Anyone have any custom subwoofer setups they would recommend? Looking to add some sound to the truck!

Welcome to TW! It's not "custom" but, for me, the short answer to your subwoofer question was to add a Sound Ordnance B-8PTD.

The longer answer is that my sub was part of a wide-ranging sound system upgrade. When looking to upgrade the sound in my AC, I found a number of threads on this and similar topics. The Audio & Video forum is a good place to start. Crutchfield is a good place to get an idea of what's available/suitable. Armed with that info, visit a (couple of) local shop(s) to listen to various combos. (In the end, it's about what sounds good to you, rather than what anyone else used.) Narrow your choices and buy from where you get the best "bang for your buck." Upgrading stock speakers is a good place to start. Combine that with a decision about whether you're replacing the head unit or just upgrading the signals coming from it. I chose the latter, and am very happy with the result.

FWIW, I added the following to my Sound Ordnance B-8PTD Sub...
    - AudioControl LC2i Line Out Converter
    - JL Audio XD200/2v2 Amp
    - Focal PS165V1 Speakers
    - Hushmat & Noico Liner Sound Insulation

I pulled most interior panels and the carpet, in addition to door panels, when I did mine...

Years later, I remain pleased with the results. Unless money is burning a hole in your pocket, comparison shop! I got all my stuff for an average of 40% off MSRP.

I replaced the seat backs of the rear seats with a subwoofer box. I intend on using this subwoofer enclosure as the seat back after I add some reinforcement so that the box isn't damaged when people rest up against it.

Nice, I bet its loud and clear as hell!
I also went the Skar route. I used a few components in my other car and love how their products are actual rated and over built for the money. Been using it for 5 years with no issues.
In my taco I used a set of the Skar SPX-65C. powered by a Diamond Audio 2 channel amp 100w rms each
and a Skar ZVX-8 sub powered by a Skar RP1200.1. I have it in a custom access cab sealed box for now but will move to a custom ported one soon. The little monster sub is begging for more volume to stretch its legs.
Check out my thread thing in my sig for pics of the set up. (scroll towards the end for the audio stuff)

@Master Z Hell yeah man! I don't remember the exact dimensions of my box, but I believe it's just shy of 3 cubic feet, with 2 ports on the right side. I had my friend John at Werks Autosound make it. They take online orders. If you need some custom enclosures, you should check them out.

Mine isn’t custom, as it’s the JBL upgraded system, but it has plenty of low end, and I’m adding sound damping to clean up the sound and vibrations.

Did your 6x9 and 6.5 fit nice and snug without modifications? Did you need brackets or adapters? If you can share the links to the speakers, adapters, amplifier and brackets if you needed them please man would really appreciate it!
