I think with the large influx of new members, and even other members like me who have been here for months, even years, could really use a dedicated thread just for talking about every possible option out there for exhaust systems. Everything from TRD systems to MBRP and everything in between. This could also be a great way for vendors to showcase their exhaust options too. Ultimately here are my hopes and expectations:

    1) everyone can come here and browse for the right exhaust for them.

    2) vendors and/or customers who already have an aftermarket system, post up your exhaust and a video. The video can be just a short revving in Park, or it can be as extensive as drive-by and in-cab recording.

Highway drone seems to be the biggest influencing factor in the purchasing decision. For me, it’s not everything but it’s a big deal. Secondly, it needs to lack that extremely annoying ricey sound. Let’s accept the fact that they all include some ricey sound but less is best.

    Nice thread blue!

I keep hearing 3” is a bad idea vs stock 2.5” due to torque loss unless you run a turbo and/or the dump tubes. It makes sense because 2.5” is actually a good size for the output of this engine

Curious to hear about people’s experience. I run a simple Flowmaster Super 44 and it sounds great. I don’t have highway drone really at all (my wife likes it and it’s quiet with the windows up) and the power seems adequate through the rpm range for me

I have an exhaust tip, does that count for custom?!

I did do high heat matte black all the way to the spare so it’s even a little more custom. No big deal...

I really want the trd exhaust, but its pricey. My buddy has it on his TRD OR, and it looks and sounds great. Quiet with normal driving.

It would make driving my MT much more enjoyable in those higher rpms.

It's like putting a megaphone next to your butt when you fart! Lol why?!
Even if my farts sounded good stock I still wouldn't want people to hear me fart.

Came just to second this joy.

But actually, what about exhaust reroutes? Been wondering what avenues I can take to get one. No desire to change the noise.

I've tried to get myself to think our engine sounds good but after 2 years of owning this truck I'm glad I've stuck to the stock exhaust

I went with a Magnaflow that another member recommended and did an axle chop with turndown. MBRP was too loud for me, I feel like Magnaflow is right amount of growl without sounding insanely ricey.
