Are any of y’all running 35s on your stock rims? I mounted one up just to play around and of coarse the tire is in contact with the UCA. If so what size spacers are you using?

I know I should change wheels for- offset but I’m really trying to keep the stock look somewhat.

I have TRD Ivan Stewart rims. They rub only because of the JBA UCAs. 3/4" Bora spacers on front. If I had a different control arm, they wouldn't rub.

I wouldn’t try to run a tire that wide on stock wheels. 4.3 backspace should be just about right

I understand your concern. I think 2” over is the limit on each side. So they’re 1.5” skinnier
If this amount of difference is unsafe I will just change the wheels for wider ones with proper backspace.

However these tires have always been on 16x7 rims (on a Jeep) with over 20k on them. So I figured I’d try it on same size rims on the Tacoma.
Just curious if anyone has tried it before.

Good to know. I’m looking for different wheels now. I don’t want to risk anything happening so any suggestions on that would be appreciated.
I don’t know much about wheels obviously
    Thanks guys

I'm saying they rub without the spacer, not with the spacer. Wheels are 16x8 w/ 4.5" bs.

8”-8.5” would be my best guess for minimal width on a 12.5” tire

I think that’ll clear the UCA. Perhaps someone else will chime in to confirm

Question about wheels, seems everyone got different opinion

What width of the rim works well for 315/75(0)/16(17) width tire?

The shop that sells wheels says that 8" is too narrow for 12" + tires, is that true?

Should I go with 9" width?
I see a lot of guys run 8" fine here.

I’m currently still on a 16x7 rim. 315/75r16s Until I can get my new wheels. Haven’t had a problem just can tell they aren’t going to wear evenly for me. Slightly rounded at 40psi
