Cleaning overspray

I have what I think is overspray, or sap, something all over my hood/roof and little on the sides of the truck. Tiny clear specks, somewhat sticky, comes off with some water and some diligent rubbing.

I want to go after the whole truck, but am kind of in a hard situation since I live in a townhouse/HOA community. No access to hoses. Truck is in a carport (so it's shaded, which is nice).

I am thinking of getting some waterless car wash and washing the truck so it's clean...

and then using the soap again (so it's lubricated) and going over the paint with this...

then maybe washing it again (without the clay mitt), then drying....

Finally, waxing the truck

Good idea? Bad?

 

Use water and car wash soap to get rid of any small dirty and debris, dry then follow the instructions for the clay bar.

 

Can you get to one of those coin op power washer carwash places? That would be nice, just for the hose alone and lots of water.

If not the ONR will work, do a rinsless wash rather than waterless wash according to instructions, all you need is a bucket of warm water and a lot of towels and the ONR. Use a LOT of towels and once dirty put it aside.
Once its clean definitely use that clay towel, you can dilute the ONR to use as a lube. Once you get it clayed, go ahead and do a waterless wipe with, you guessed it, properly diluted ONR. It's very versatile as you can see. Again if you can do this in a coin op wash bay and use the hose it'll be much easier and better as far as risking scratches.
I wouldn't apply a wax, unless it's a really good one. Wax just doesnt last very long. Look into a polymer or sio2 sealant, they protect for months. You're on the right track and what you want to do is doable. Years ago this just wasnt possible, detailing products have come a long way

 

I may be able to actually go wash it at my friends house. Id do the clay part over there as well (even though its not shaded).

Those clay towels are so nice to use. Make sure you break it in properly on glass and you're good to go.
If you can do it at your friends then that's great but you can do it at your place too, but having a hose is obviously ideal.
ONR is very versatile and nice to use. I prefer carpro ech2o, it has sio2 in it so adds more gloss, and protection. A little goes a long way too, it might seem expensive but in the long run it's a steal. Can be used as a rinseless, waterless, clay lube, detail spray, drying aid, all at different dilutions. So definitely Take a look at the ech2o vs ORN, but you can't lose either way. I just wanted to let you know you have options.
