The Toyota campaign for the radar sensor procedure is to add the foam and then perform the software update. The software update fixed the ghost braking that some experienced and added a few other "features" that Toyota will never reveal. One thing I noticed personally is that my truck auto braked when a cyclist had move a little to much in my lane. Truck auto braked before I could get to the brake pedal. It never recognized cyclists before. I'm still curious of it would auto brake if a deer ran out onto the road.

I like it. One just has to be attentive. The technology has been around for years.

I had a 2018 GMC Yukon XL Denali with adaptive cruise control before getting my Taco, and Toyota’s system is light years better than what was in that thing. I use it for at least 75% of my 90 mile round trip commute to work every day.

I treat it like the autopilot in my plane- trust, but verify. As with any system it works great until it doesn’t so be prepared for that inevitability. Still a great feature and something I won’t buy another vehicle without.

Toyotas with TSS-P will detect pedestrians. No metal required.

Man, somehow I don’t know that the half baked system in your rig is the same as that in the tacoma and other passenger vehicles...

I’m counting on all this technology to save us by paying attention. Modern drivers sure don’t.

I have a new 2019 OR and drove from San Francisco to Lake Tahoe a week or so ago using this for the first time. Reading about it I was thinking it would be more trouble than it is worth. But guess what - it worked great and I really liked it.

I love the adaptive cruise control, makes my daily 80 mile commute not so terrible.
