word of advice, get rid of the rears and if you want, put the extra money (you would've used to add upgraded rear speakers) into better fronts (or whatever) for the system.

Well the 4200 screen motor was DOA....had to get another one shipped out :/ hopefully this one will work. So far the only thing that was a pain in the ass was removing the hazard light / clock display. The directions vs what I was actually seeing on the back of the radio were completely different lol...apparently all you have to do is take out the two screws and unhook all of the tabs and the cd assembly lifts off of the face. Lesson learned.

Just ordered the 920, dash kit, SWI-PS and harness adapter for $700 shipped - not including the $100 rebate.

Thanks for the deal...it really made the decision as to a head unit a lot easier.

Just got the 920BT installed in my 1st gen DC on friday and used the nav all weekend. Works great, although not being able to input new destinations when going above 10mph is annoying. I am going to bypass that this weekend. Bluetooth is crystal clear on both ends, too. Def. recommend this unit.

I have the upgraded JBL crap and want to get a new HU. I am confused on what wiring harness i need to get it to work ans sound the best. I am going to upgrade the speakers later on when i get the money but i have been reading and saw something about the stock amp powers the speakers. I am just confused and looking for clarification...thanks

Lots of JBL info, of course its from a 4Runner, you need either a JBL interface (used $30, new $80) kit and headunit that puts out 4V or a JBL bypass wiring harness about $30. All of the above lets you keep existing speakers, or all new speakers and pull wires to them.

is the 100 dollar mail in rebate only on the 920BT model? Anyone have a picture of the P3200 installed? I want to get a new head unit, but I don't want my truck broken into either :-/ I work in the not so best of neighborhoods sometimes. Really want something that looks stock...

Yes, the 2v system still works but noticed not having to turn the volume up as much with the 4v. Yes, new speakers will need fresh wire and speaker mounts, with the fresh wire you would use the wires out of the head unit, which won't be used with the JBL interface, you use the RCA plugs, that statement will make more sense while holding the HU wiring harness.

Which one said it wouldn't fit? Post a link if you can. I was under the impression that any of the double-din pioneers would work.
