I own a 2017 TRD Off Road w/6 speed manual. I am looking for a 3" suspension lift and larger wheels/tires. Based on my research, advice from shops, and communication with custom offsets, I am looking at the set up below.

My intent is to gain the additional height and improve performance on trail without sacrificing road ride too much. This truck is also my daily driver.

For the cost, what is the opinion of this set up? Are there lifts of more value available with acceptable performance? Trying to avoid the need for cutting in relation to tire rub as well.

    Any advice is appreciated.

[Update]: Is an OME 2" lift a beneficial performance boost for a much more valuable price tag?

    Proposed set up:
Toytec Boss Supsension System w/Aluminum Coilovers (Adjustable 2"-3")
    TTBOSSTAC-2016ALM

Total Chaos Uniball Upper Control Arms
    96504

    Black Rhino Barstow 18x9.5 (+12)
    1895BTW126140M12

    Nitto Ridge Grappler
    LT285/65R18 E 125/122Q - 32.56"
    285/60R18 120T XL - 31.46"

I think you’re on the right track, but you will still need to cut metal with 285s.

Also, may want to look into a diff drop since you’re above 2.5”.

Edit: see you said 285/60. I am not sure what people’s experience is with these.

285/60 is just going to depend on width and offset of the wheel.

Too big. Looks awkward, IMO, especially since you're <33's. I would go 16 or 17's.

I am planning a lift soon as well. I will most likely go with an OME set up. $1,300 for ~2". No need to mess with UCA or diff drop.

Then get 255/85/16 ST Maxx tires on stick rims. I'm also running 1.25" spidertrax.

Then tackle all the 4-6 rated trails I want.

OME came up quite a bit in my research.

To the group: OME 2" lift a solid performer for less money? Would alleviate the UCA and diff drop. Roughly how large of a tire may fit such a lift without cutting?

18s looks fine on the Tacoma. Limited is a 18" wheel with a 30.5" tire and looks fine so a 1" bigger tire (285/60/18) will look fine.

I don't own a Monster flat bill trucker cap, so it's all good.

Generally what I found in my research. Wanted to double tap and ensure I hadn't missed something.

    Thank you.
