Has anyone else had issues mounting these? I think I may have received the wrong brackets.... or I'm just not smart enough to figure out this supposedly simple install. Any wisdom is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

They are a pain in the ass to get on and get everything lined up correctly. It doesn’t help that they don’t have any sort of instructions. There are a couple threads out there about installing them, I’ll see if I can dig them up.

You basically need to remove both fenders so you can access the hood hinge bolts, then trim the hood cowl enough to make room for them. I can take a picture later if you need.

Yeah, a bit of a pain to install. I have one for my CB antenna. Overall I love it as it is super sturdy. If I recall, I simply unbolted the fender and gently pried it out to get the mount into position. If that makes you uncomfortable you'll have to remove the fender, or maybe loosen it. When it comes to trimming the plastic cowl piece, you don't need to remove much. I cut it after looking at it and ended up cutting too much off. So start trimming conservatively so you can do a cleaner job than I did.

Thanks guys, this is what I was thinking after scratching my head, sipping a beer and looking at it for about half an hour.

X2 on that lack of instructions. Not cool.

Another option for ditch lights... They mount on the hood hinge using the same bolts that hold the hood on. Still have to trim the cowl but no need to remove the fenders.
