I have noticed that my truck has been using a good bit of oil, I thought it was going out the tailpipe but I think it's going out of tailpipe and into my water reservoir. Check my water reservoir and it is a black milky substance. A very substantial amount. I don't have any water in my oil probably meaning there's more oil pressure than water pressure, what are your thoughts.

2007 2.7l owner here — head gasket. My issues were slightly different than yours, but it’s still 99.999% your head gasket. I could add a few more 9’s probably.

Never overheated, she has 306740. I thought only when you have water in your oil it's the head gasket I have no water whatsoever in my oil I have oil in my water meaning the oil cooler I thought has leak by and allowed oil to get into my water.

From what I've read your oil filter screws onto an oil cooler which water passes through to cool the oil and if it leaks it allows oil to get into your water but not water in your oil because oil pressure is higher than water pressure. And somebody please correct me if I'm wrong?

The oil cooler was on tow package 4.0L, not the 2.7L.

    Compression test each cylinder..

This might help determine what’s going on.

    Uh-Oh!

I agree it sounds like a head gasket has been blown.

It can go either way depending on the differential pressure between the oil and water.

Drain the coolant and you will probably have a load of oil in there if it has been doing it for a while.
