Yeah. I emailed them to see if they'd make a custom switch for me. I haven't heard anything back yet.

The more thought I give to this, the more I think using the Switch Pro might be a good option. Like I said earlier, I have two accessories that don't really have to be connected to it, so I can get two buttons back. Then I can control the winch from the cab OR from my phone via Bluetooth. It would also be the easiest to wire. Two wires if I'm reading right.

 

Did someone say in-cab winch controls?

So im itching to add parts to the truck that have been gathering dust for a year! I want to get my snorkel installed before school starts in 3 weeks. Anyone want to try and get a mod day in the near future?

P.S. bumper swap/install is happening this week w/ @MatEnginerd

I like that option of using your phone. That's pretty cool.

 

I rarely use it with the Switch Pro, so I had completely forgotten it was possible. From what I remember there's a very small lag. I'll have to test.

I may have spoken too soon. According to Switch Pro installation manual, they suggest not using it to control a winch. I emailed them asking for an explanation. I don't understand why you can use a regular toggle switch, but not the Switch Pro.

Current draw?

 

Anything is possible. I'm no electrical wizard. In my mind it's like the ARB compressor (which is fine with the Switch Pro). The Switch Pro is just "flipping a switch" for a solenoid. To me it would seem that the draw is minimal.

 

Definitely needs some extended travel kings...

 

@chiefcrunchy let me know when you'd be able to work on it....I might be headed back to the cabin this weekend (Sat morn-Sun afternoon). I'm going to try to catch up with @Cody23 for some hood and shell lights Friday night in Alexandria, but just need to plan out my time and family time accordingly. Also need to get some maintenance knocked out and figure out my plan for the rear suspension/lift (which might require some more $$).
Looking at upcoming weekends I'm out this Saturday and then out for Labor Day, and the wife will have the truck the following weekend on another Chi-town trip to help manage her great uncle's estate. If I can gather some funds and work with some of the guys around I might have my rear lift figured out for one of the weekends in between my time out of town.

@Casper66 any chance you've got a mid-day opening available!? Seeing as you might have my rear lift solution

Or now I see @Truggin offered up his spot, maybe I could grab lift parts on the way back from the cabin

It might have something to do with the latency of starting and stopping the winch.

 

Oops I had it in my head you were up North...we are headed to the cabin Saturday morning I believe, glad I figured that part out before I set my telework plans if I don't have to take the truck North to meet you!
