I loved that car but after owning it for years I was wanting something new. It helped that I was made an offer I couldn't refuse because it wasn't even officially for sale. I got a screamin' trade + cash offer based on what I paid so I took it. The Supra had appreciated a fair bit but I wish I had held it a few more years as they've gone up even more since. Getting another one would cost me a small fortune which is why I'm planning to replace it with the new Tesla Roadster some day down the road when I've got an itch for another sports car.

People are crapping on the design but I, for one, dig it. I like that it's a marketed departure from what every other truck on the market looks like since it is going to be unlike every other truck on the market. If it looks like that and meets the specs early rumors state (0-60 in 3 seconds, 300,000lb towing capacity and starting price under $50k) I'll be in the market for one for sure. If it looks like this monstrosity posted earlier I'm out:

I've always been a Tesla fanboy and I'm super excited to see what the truck has to offer. Hopefully Elon can keep the price down. He's said that this is the model he's most excited for as he is a fan of trucks himself so that helps give it some hope

Article, which is now pay walled to me, had a quote from Musk saying "should be able to buy a Pick-up for under $49K."

Indeed. I like what Rivian has shown us so far but the Tesla Supercharging network is a helluva selling feature in and of itself. That and no other EV that has come to market can come even close to battery effeciency and performance specs. Couple those reasons with the design language & you've got the recipe for why I'm such a big fan of Tesla currently.

I sure hope other manufacturers come to market with some real competition though to drive innovation and pricing competitions. As of right now though Tesla is absolutely SMOKING everyone else. Every time a new "Tesla killer" is touted it falls flat once it actually comes out further proving how far out Tesla is on their battery innovation.

I saw that too but I really wish he'd stop painting himself into a corner with advance pricing estimates like that. They lost so much credibility over how long it took to actually make the $35k Model 3 a reality and it was self-imposed. Had he not mentioned anything about price in advance the world would have lost their mind over a sub $40k Model 3 last year. Instead, people crapped on them for how long it took to get to the Model 3 when in reality it was pretty close to what he estimated so many years earlier. It feels like they're singing up for the same thing with him saying "well under $49k" like he did on the truck.

This one won't be around for long so buy it now and then get the other things later as funds permit. :spy:
