    Lots of sail boat fuel
Those new hybrid bumpers all the mfgs make expose the bottom of the Intake where all the holes are a good amount.

Wonder if the new trend in bumpers will drive a second look at snorkels and maybe drive some mfgs to make better looking and less cumbersome ones

i'm not a fan of the snorkel, plus i don't live close to any deserts. I might consider it if i lived closer to a desert

Saw this guy in Yellowstone trying to figure out what he did to make the TJM fit and work.

Another guy on IG has done this also and he said it took a lot of cutting up near the firewall to make it work. His was from a 5th gen 4Runner also.

Doesn’t even look like it’s seated at the top or bottom. When you zoom in, it looks more like a shadow and has gaps at the top and bottom. Could’ve at least fabricated a foam gasket with some craft foam, rubber weather seal or even black caulk.

Not to mention that shoe mod probably makes visuality hard when dodging tourists.

Worst time of the year for Yellowstone.

I still would’ve tried to dress it up to make it cleaner looking. Don’t think it would be too hard. BUT it is an ok looking one compared to the others available for a gen3. I don’t personally like them but it’s also not my truck. I just really like seeing people’s solutions to personal mods. Especially the more DIY route. Of course not hack job DIY though lol.

My own personal view is, I paid 40K for a brand new truck. By the time a snorkel actually becomes "useful", I've probably got water coming inside my brand new truck at some point or another. Soooo.... no thanks. So to me anyway, it's 99.9% an aesthetic thing and you pay a fair amount of money for a good quality one.

Also, beware the TRD "snorkel" that you can get on the 2019's as I believe was previously mentioned. It's no better than a standard air filter and is only for filtering dust "above the dust line" (whatever the hell that is...).

I guess I have no idea what I'm talking about but I drive in dirt roads quite a lot to get to my land and saw a huge improvement in the air filter not being clugged up with dust and dirt. I had to clean the filter every now and then with my 2010, not anymore.

Hey, as stated, it's my own personal view. I have a two friends back in Vegas that bought `19 Pro's within weeks of each other from the same dealer with the snorkel option and both spend time at Dumont and Amargosa dunes, and just out in the desert in general off-roading to places where they go shooting and they have had less than stellar reviews regarding them. So frankly, I'm more inclined to listen to their reviews.

I'm welcome to my thoughts just like you're welcome to get a little salty about a comment that wasn't even directed at anyone in particular. To each their own!

Sorry I've been onboard my ship too long, I get salty for everyting and nothing, time to go home lol

I figured it would be much different driving around in dunes, but I highly doubt they saw zero improvement over the stock location. Of course it won't be 100% proof, but someone should compare it with a truck with the ARB and see the difference.

How many of you guys are actually putting your truck under water that you need a snorkel? the stock airbox is like 4 feet off the ground already..... cant imagine that I would risk all the computers and wiring in my truck to try a water crossing deeper than the floor pan.

But when you remember that the hole under the snorkel is almost to the edge on one part you start obsessing about it and start making threads about welding a piece of body back on to the panel.
