Since 3rd Gens don't have the OEM Track across the front of the bed, do the AT Habitats on those rigs not bolt into that location? My 2nd gen had the installers place four bolts into the front of the bed to hold down the Habitat. One actually snapped off when Equipt was installing, so technically I have 3, but I've definitely never had it lift up like you are showing. And in Equipt's defense, they did offer to fix it but were a little worried about causing more damage, I was in a rush so told them not to worry about it.

I spoke with at today will be trying to bolt the front one down to the aluminum plate they installed. Guys have been very responsive and helpful. Will see how it works.

i could be mistaken, but, pretty sure there was an ancillary strip placed to seat the weather stripping, not hold down the Habitat across the front of bed.

I believe you’re correct. Nothing is holding the front of it at this time.

Mine was solid for about the first six months. Then suddenly I had trouble closing the rear hatch. Over a couple trips it went from a little tight to close to impossible to close when I had the top flipped out. Finally figured out what was up. I average 2 weekends a month. I couldn't figure out what was causing it. But both sides on mine (driver and passenger) were lifting up, just enough that the weather stripping was no longer compressed.

I’m guessing third gen as well ? It seems like those bolts to front of the unit would help. It sucks in my case bif time since I have it all built out inside. So it’s a huge pita time and money lost. So not very happy with at with the fact that tbis should have been a known issue and addressed during install.

yep 3rd gen dual cab OR with 5ft bed.
At the time, maybe two months ago, sounded like it was only one other that it'd happened too. I took the opportunity to rewire my electric, which was pretty hill billy to begin with and needed to be redone.

I did the 4 bolts, no problems since

I had just assumed these 4 bolts into the track mounting locations were helping to hold the Habitat down. So you are saying it's just something to mate against the weather stripping? Didn't know that. I wish I didn't have so much stuff loaded right now, I'd walk out to the parking lot and take a closer look.

yes weather stripping. you can unbolt the Side rails, and lift the Habitat without doing anything to those circled bolts.

HAHA, well now I care even less that Equipt snapped one of the bolt heads off. Thanks for that bit of knowledge!

Unfortunately the Fort has seen some setbacks.
I’m alright, basically unharmed, and nobody was hurt.
I was driving home late one night last week in the rain and hadn’t slept well the night before. I either fell asleep or drove off the road, but the truck ended up in a tree next to a creek and I woke up. I’m still dealing with the insurance company. I can rebuild, happy to be alive and the truck definitely saved my life.
