Yes, I had to have both my calipers rebuilt because of this. Most likely cause from mud.

What happened was. My caliper was sticking which warped my rotor. so, I had the calipers rebuilt and new rotors put on.

Yup, I'm after replacing both of mine over the past two years.

A rebuilt replacement from an autoparts store may be your cheapest route.

4wd and pre-runners have fixed calipers but 4 pistons...is that what are sticking? Are these more prone than floating calipers to this?

Do you think it's mudding that causes this? or getting wet a lot?

Do ya think it's something to keep an eye on... like maybe be careful to wash off the rotors if I do get into mud?

The rotors have nothing to do with it.

If you're anal enough, your could remove your calipers and clean your pistons annually. A little brake cleaner and relubing with brake fluid is the typical way.

If the glide pins are sticking, you can free them up yourself with penetrating oil. If its the piston that's sticking its best to replace the whole caliper.

Ya...i meant spraying off the calipers to get caked on mud out from between them and the rotor/pads.

Tacobox: There aren't guide pins on the 4-piston calipers.
