Agree with it being overpriced . That asking price is teetering on a V6 DC pricing which unless you really are set with a 4cyl AC, I would go with a V6 DC.

    Too few to list.
KBB value here is $10.9K at the highest. Typically the regional value only differs by a few hundred. That truck has too many miles for that price. I'd expand my search, fly out and drive home or even have it transported. You'd still won't be at the $13.3K

Thanks everybody for the responses. I think I agree with most of you that I should wait for a better deal or talk them down to a lower price.

The owner came down to $12.3k, I sort of agreed and then backed out a day later. I couldn't do it. It's really a nice truck despite the high mileage and lack of trim package. It's got cruise control and a CD player which is all I care about. I just couldn't do it. It's still dealership prices to me. If I'm patient, I can find something in the SW within 6hr drive for less than $10k and the same mileage. I like tinkering on vehicles and have most of the tools (or can borrow them from AutoZone) to do things myself, so I should put what few skills I have to use on a high mileage Tacoma. Something that looks cool and has a good reputation for being tough and long lasting, something worth my time and money. I hope to take my tacoma to 350k miles or further and I really just need it to stay relatively maintenance free for a year or so until other things in my life settle down (house remodel, marriage possibly). I hope a 4 banger 5MT with <225k would last me a year+ without any big mechanical issues (guess I should ask what you guys think about that statement). I'm kind of laughing now because this is way more information than you asked for but this post turned into more about me figuring out what I really want to do with my money/time. I could probably afford the payments on a 2019 Tacoma, and I'd probably save a lot of time and hassle. It might even be a good investment as far as vehicles go. But for some reason spending anything more than $10k gets me so stressed and anxious it's just not worth the satisfaction of having something new and reliable. Anyway, I'm going cheap and high mileage. I'll have to be more patient than I am and pray to Satan that my damn Ford keeps turning over to get me to work in the morning. Thanks for checking in.

180K for $12.3K is still way over priced. It won't be maintenance free either at those miles as things wear out and would likely need replacement. Be patient, you'll find your truck.

    I

At least you thought smart. Take your time searching. I waited a few months and drove like 70 miles to get mine. I got my 09 with 62k on for 20k. The way I looked at it and I could justify spending all that on it is, i can probably own it till I pay it off and still sell it for 10k. I will keep it till the wheels fall off and it should last roughly 300k. I looked at frontiers, i could of bought a brand new one for like 25k but the inside are plain as hell and it might not last as long and they don't hold their value. And I hate to say but American cars don't last. There getting better but all the electronic shit is something I don't want to deal with again, I've had my share of problems with electrical. I still have a beater car that I drive daily, it runs great i just can't drive it over 70 or 80 otherwise the wheel starts shaking. so I don't take it on the highway. It's a 09 outlander with 160k. I drive it like I stole it all the time. Lol

4cyl 4x4 5MT Access Cabs are very rare... I agree it’s overpriced; aren’t pretty much all 1st and 2nd Gen Tacomas? if you’re set on that combo you could be looking for a long time or you might get lucky. I also would love to own one like that. 4cyl 5mt ac 4x4:thumbsup: Good luck with the search.

I would love to own a beater like that for a DD. It's nice to know you have a more reliable backup though.

True, for some reason Tacoma fans are willing to pay more than market value for their trucks, sometimes. I was almost one of them. The 4cyl 5mt 4x4 just seems interesting enough to me that I won't kick myself for spending money on mods and maintaining it. Not that I wouldn't love having a 6cyl auto, too! My 2nd pick might be a DCSB flatbed just because they look cool.

I believe you did right not buying the vehicle. The right truck will pop up and you’ll know it.

When I was younger, I noticed that sometimes when I tried to force a deal to happen it wasn’t actually the deal that I wanted, at all. I found myself nitpicking away at the numbers, trying to push those numbers into my predetermined brackets. “Well, the price isn’t what I want so I’ll counter with this. They probably won’t agree so I’ll decide to counter again with this amount, and if they say yes to that, well, I can make that work”. Then I’m stuck looking at the deal that I didn’t want, almost wanting it not to happen.

Patience, being firm with myself with what I would accept, and realizing that I can literally at the drop of a hat buy almost any beater to “get me by” was a healthy realization. Of course, you already know this since you didn’t get that truck. You’ll get your truck, OP. It’ll happen.
