i use superpump250 as my pre workout. so far its the best one i have found. but another thing to remember is that it takes time and effort. i have been lifting for about 6+ years. took about 4 or 5 years to get my bench up to 315

That much creatine will ravage your kidneys. 1.5g will suffice.

Just a note to everyone out there, do not take creatine monohydrate - it has only been shown to increase muscle in pregnant women. Take a better quality creatine like Krealkaline, and don't take a lot. When you finish a bottle take a month break or so to let your kidneys recover from all of the extra creatine intake you have.

I'm not just talking out of my ass, I have a lot of experience with the stuff, used many different kinds of it and obviously researched it a lot before I used it.

6'2" and 165? You sound like me...I was at the same weight (like 5'10" 145lbs) from 7th grade to...sophmore year COLLEGE. haha. hopefully what i've done can work for you. same deal, super metabolism, born skinny, stayed skinny. but i started working out religiously a few years ago, and it took me a long time to find a routine that worked well for me. i don't use any supplements, no protein powders, no nothing. just got ol' fashioned hearty meals a day. i'm still pretty skinny, but better than before:

and this is a repost from another thread, but this is my routine:

also, you mentioned in your OP that you were concerned about building up some strength -- I do jiu jitsu as well, and i'm able to roll with guys 180-190 because of my workout. it's great for building strength and stamina (stamina, IMO, is more important for jiu jitsu than strength. I think it goes technique > stamina > strength) due to the focus on the negatives during the exercises.

    Great Thread

A lot of great comments and opinions.

I have used NO Explode in the past and it's alright. I take Jack3D now and I love it it doesn't make you all amped just focused. I tingles a little but I don't mind.

    Example of the gains.
I took about a year off the Gym and lost quite a bit of mass. When i started back up i was week So i started taking Jack3D to help me stay focused and keep me in the Gym. And let me tell you this shit works my flat dumbbell press went form 75's 5 times on my forth set to now on my forth set I toss up the 105's 8 times 6 with no help.
Now my diet and my training regimen helped a lot with that but my Pre workout supplement helped along the way.

I buy all my supplements from https://www.tfsupplements.com/
there prices and cheap and shipping is fast.

My sophomore year of high school I weighed 120 pounds and could barley bench the bar. Then I worked out hard, ate right, and took muscle milk. My senior year I was 155, benching 250, squatting 400, and dead lifting 500. But I played football so I had to do this. Now with a full time job, new truck, GF, I am a bit bigger and a lot less bulky. But I am starting to eat better and get back into my routine. Muscle milk will be started soon!

JDM had the best advice. I used to be big into the supps and saw some ok gains. Now with eating correctly and crossfitting I'm in a lot better shape, stronger, and have even gotten a little bigger (eat more and do a lot of oly lifts)

What about those of us who workout but not interested in bulking up. I lift 203 times a week. Mountain bike 3 times a week. i would like to experience more energy, I am reaching or have reached that age that I feel less energy and a 3:00 p.m. nap is on order. Any suggestions?
I do drink a Monster energy drink on a regular basis, but when I ride i end up having to stop and pee every ten minutes or so.

Seriously diet once it's dialed in will have a huge impact. Check out zone or Paleo diet

yep, diet is just as much (if not more) a part of fitness as the workout is. if you're not eating right, but have a dedicated routine, you'll see minimal gains and improvements.

Also, i wouldn't recommend energy drinks at all. They actually train your body to rely on them, and your body won't produce as much "natural energy" as normal. (Probably the reason you need a 3PM nap). This is kind of the same principle of steroids giving a guy man-boobs - the steroid boosts the levels of testosterone in the body, causing the body to think it needs to produce less testosterone and more estrogen.

I drink water, all the time. Sometimes milk, sometimes juice, but never anything with sugar in it. Look into Chia Seeds, i throw them into a bottle of water, and they will absorb the water after 10 mins or so. When you drink it, the chia seeds will help your body retain the water for a longer period, helping you stay hydrated for longer as well as giving you some good complex carbs.

never heard of zone or paleo diet. I am a field engr, I am on the road from place to place, so following a dedicatyed diet wont happen, but I am always looking for somewhat healthy. My biggets problem is I have a MAJORRR SWEET TOOTH. Gotta have my sweets. i fail in that i drink coke when Im busy at work. trying to kick the habit. I will look into those diets mentioned. thanks for the input.

What does the chia do, what is it good for, and how do you use it?

sweet man! yeah, i figure you drink water all day, it's super easy just add some chia to it and give your body something extra! :D

here's what i replied with to a PM:

chia seeds are definitely a great addition to your diet. after drinking them i feel more hydrated and energized, but there's always theory that it's a placebo (even though they are scientifically proven to hold nutrients that benefit your body). hell, placebo or not, i feel great when i use them, so why stop? [IMG]

as for use, what i do is pour a few tablespoons of chia seeds into a water bottle before i leave work. (you will have to put some trial and error into the right amount of seeds to add to a water bottle). the seeds take about 10-20 minutes to settle in the water (shake it up a bit every now and then). an ideal amount of seeds will leave your entire bottle in a slightly gelly material as the seeds do expand after absorbing water. it's surprising how a little amount can fill up the bottle after they expand, so don't put too much. the seeds are tasteless, but the texture is similar to boba/tapioca balls, if you've ever had that. it might take some getting used to. after they settle in, i leave my workplace and drink the bottle during my drive to the gym (about 30 minutes). this gives your body some time to digest the seeds. you can use it similar to this before any workout (a jog, a bike ride, etc) but just give your body some time to absorb it. this is NOT a full day's water intake replacement, so make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day as well...but feel free to throw some chia in every now and then [IMG]

let me know if you have any other questions!
