I just saw a youtube video from RobMotive where he inserts a 1" spacer between the bottom of the rear driver's seat mounting bracket and the floor, using a longer bolt to make up the difference. He calls it an EPIC mod and says it makes a huge difference with a much more truck-like feel. The spacer only went under the back mounts so it changes the angle a bit, too. I'm about to head to the hardware store for some spacers and bolts but just thought I'd see how many have actually done this and had a similar outcome in how you felt before and after. And I did search for a thread referring to this. Saw lots of threads that complained, but none offered any real solution, just the usual "for $35k and up, you'd think you'd get power seats".

Theres a guy on here, maybe 2 guys who make and sell seat spacers. Most people seem pleased with the item.

I have the rear spacers. 1” I believe. It’s a nice mod, makes you ride a little taller. I’m 6’ incidentally

I'm 6-1. My truck does not have the moonroof so I probably have about 4-5" of headroom now. I'm gonna try it. For about $15-20 in parts and 20 mins labor to install, I'm not out much if I don't like it.

theres also a guy on here who sells spacers to lift the front of the seat. I guess the best idea is to unbolt the rear of the seat and temporarily put some spacers on there to see how it feels. Then bolt the rear back down. Now unbolt the front of the seat and put some spacers in there to see how THAT feels. I have been meaning to try both, but I seem to like my current stock position. But until you try, tilting the seat one way or another may improve it, dont know until you try it. There are a few threads on this.
Here is a thread on rear spacers... https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...to-2-lift-for-the-rear-of-front-seats.571318/

Spacers at hardware stores are not wide enough to safely support the loads. They are a great way to test the feeling though. You really want a wide base spacer in there. The good part is that your bolts will work with those, so you are only out a stack of washers or whatever.

I really like these since they cover up the gap in the trim piece:

If you have hamstring issues lifting the front can help. If you're short lifting the back can help, but not once you get out.

I bought a set of the rear spacers from the classifieds section of this site. Probably the single most important mod of the many I’ve done to this truck. It was like night and day for me. I hated the seating position as it came from the factory.

The 2020 Tacoma’s will FINALLY offer power seats with 10-way adjustment. Owners will be able to raise/lower the seat up to 2”.

He’s in the Pacific Northwest where it can rain a lot during any week of the year. Some years it rains 270 days or so!

What @OregontoBajaCA said. I started the install in the dry but got moist finishing it up.

Yes, but . . . There was a time when we had a convertible and the motorcycles after that. The truly miserable rain and all day clouds are very rare compared to western PA where I grew up. Not even getting into the moderate climate otherwise.

I will say that OR has WA absolutely beat on great roads though!

Might be easier to use a different seat that's already lower, Lexus maybe?

Will it mess up the little leg part? Mess up as in possibly bend it if you sit up or something.
