    Cooler weather would be a bonus. I’m heading out there with my wife this weekend, might do Spaas and/or Pumpkin Hollow just to get her feet wet. Pretty safe going solo with how dry it’s been?

    Maybe one of us just needs to get a winch... it’s on my Christmas list for myself...

    Yeah we have a repeating cycle of:
    wedding->family visiting->working
    That leaves our first free weekend as 9/14.
    I'll send a text or something if any of those things gets canceled.

    If you guys are even thinking of solo or small group wheeling, a winch should be an immediate purchase. It could be the difference between a few minutes of recovery and leaving your truck in the woods overnight, or longer.

    Dont gamble with Murphy.

    Had a couple weddings to work on prick. On top of a full time job and trying to please your mom all at the same time. Takes up loads of time!

    Did you end up going? There was a big ride down there with the Kentucky Landcruiser guys, so if you did you probably saw them.

    When we ran Spaas after the meet it could be easily done solo (as long as you don't try to blaze your own trail like I did). I haven't been on pumpkin in about 2 years, but I remember it being easy.....that being said, conditions change quickly when a foot of rain falls, so who knows what erosion and ruts are like now.

    We ran down Fixer-Leeco and to the creek crossing on Old Fincastle. I was getting pretty irritated with my new suspension and didn’t want to make the exit of the creek (which is getting pretty bad looking).

    I wanted to do more but my wife was fed up and wanted to go home.

    Believe it or not the family and I camped down there couple weeks ago found a brochure on hollerwood explained the whole story counties wanted a new way to bring in tourists and money now it works not only will we spend money down there for fuel and grub but to get to some of the trails you have to pay for a pass. county own roads is what a lot of the trails are there just not maintained
