It is not really about the absolute height but about comfort. I'm 6ft and am all day comfortable with the stock seat. My 5ft 6in wife could not tolerate the seat for even a few miles in the passenger seat. Now, she is as comfortable as I am with 1.5in spacers over there. I think that is the most important aspect of the 2020 powered seat, setting the height to suit driver comfort (the passenger seat will still be manual).

Wonder how expensive it will be to retrofit the automatic seats? Seems like the wiring would be a bit of a bitch.

There are a couple folks that have done it. Very intense from skimming their posts.

I'm tempted to sell mine and buy a new one just for the auto seat and rear window but I think with the gradual price increases, TSS coming standard now, etc. it would be too much to justify.

That is my exact thoughts. I don't think that I would get along well with TSS. Also in my case, I would really need the passenger seat to be powered. For less than the price difference, you could most likely get some powered seats swapped in.

I do really enjoy the slider. With the ACLB, I can at least reach it.

I did this "epic" mod after watching this video a while back. The parts were cheap and readily available at Lowe's and it resulted in much more comfortable seating position. Long trips in the Tacoma used to kill my back but this change in seating position and angle remedied that.

It’s not a memory seat, so there /shouldn’t/ be any modules involved. If thats the case, the wiring would actually be quite easy — that said i’m a certified electronics and electrical tech haha

I couldn't get comfortable with the seat back angle adjustments. One detent was too steep for comfort and the next detent made the steering wheel reach too far with my long legs. Raising the rear of the seat sorta gave me in-between detents if that makes any sense.

Length of leg/arm/torso has alot to do with it. Tipping the seat forward allows your legs to be further back while moving your hands closer to the wheel with the same base/back angle. Some prefer a higher sight line so it's not just about one particular adjustment, it adds a bit more customization to the stock 3-way arrangement.

My 5'2" wife likes it fine as-is. I'm 6'+ and like it as-is.

I'm imagining some very oddly proportioned people, shoving books and empty beer cans under their seats, grumbling all the while, just to avoid pulling some old junkyard '05 powered Tundra thrones, blowing off the rust, and adapting them to these mounts.

There are a lot of power thrones in any given junkyard, so there are lots of options!

What's the spacing on Lexus LX460 seats?

I remember seeing stuff about raising the seat before I got my 2019 TRD Sport. I also watched Robmotive's video. But when I got mine, quite honestly I can't see what the fuss was about! I think my seat is quite nice as it is. I do not have a problem seeing out the front, and it is comfortable to me, except for the color, but I digress on that one! I am 5'10", by the way. And regarding the power seat on the 2020, I mean, again, I can't see what the big deal is. Once you put the seat where you want it, you never move it anyway, and if it is at the point where you can't physically adjust your manual seat, then I mean, should you be driving anyway? No offense here, but I have seen so many people complaining about lack of a power seat, but I just can't see the need. I have not moved my seat since I originally adjusted it at the dealer before driving off the lot, and that was over 4 months ago now!

It looks like you missed my post in this thread:

I'm glad you, and I, are happy with the seat, but it is perfectly reasonable to understand that some might feel physical discomfort.

I’ve had my OR for nine months now and have never experienced a problem with the seat until I just finished a twelve hour trip. One week later and my back is still killing me. I have to try something else before the next trip.

I think you may have an issue with the seat airbags. Do the older Tundras have seat airbags? Would the airbag module recognize seat airbags from another vehicle?
