Since you were able to secure unit with factory bracket should be solid enough that you wont need lower clips I would think . If hot glue secured switch should be good :notsure: ? Head unit looks good.

If you check post #20 I have a photo with the bracket set in and it doesn't even go in all the way. I have it mounted up with the factory side brackets and used hot glue for the hazard / clock and everything seems solid for now.

I'm communicating with Dasaita on eBay to find out what is supposed to fit but with them being in China you basically get one message a day and nothing on the weekends.

does the factory usb/auxiliary work with this, or do those basically become useless

I believe metra makes an adapter to keep the factory USB/aux but I had moved mine inside my center console from a previous stereo install so I just kept those.

I think that's it. They had it linked in the other Android radio thread for the 3rd Gen and it should be the same plug.

I didn't order any of the options when I bought this one. The standard mic on the front works well so I didn't even bother connecting that. I was able to just stick the GPS antenna right on top of the unit and cable tied the wire there as well so I didn't have to route that. I'm running Android auto with headunit reloaded but I did purchase a car play dongle from eBay for 43 dollars. Still waiting on that to come in.

There's always Bluetooth or you can load music on a USB and copy it to the unit. The Dasaita I ordered has 64gb of onboard storage, pulled up the setting and it's about 56gb usable.

FYI with the newest versions of carplay and Android auto can you still use the phone while it's connected. Plenty of other options if you don't like those though.

Pretty good so far. I installed Nova launcher so it basically looks like an Android tablet in my truck and am running Android auto in 720p mode so it has the new multiple window widescreen mode. I found the XDA thread that has the updates for the units and got it all up to date as well. Just an FYI on the update, it did remove the AGAMA car launcher that came pre installed on the unit when I installed the new software. Hence, the Nova install which I actually prefer.

One issue I am having is a very faint static noise in the speakers. It's only audible at a stop with no music and the AC off but it is there. I am still trying to figure out if it's the head unit or my wiring.

I am still going back and forth with Iris at Dasaita to resolve the clock fitment issue. They are not quick at replying but at least they are replying. The biggest issue is the Chinese language barrier. Hopefully we can get that figured out.

Overall there are some quirks but nothing I can't live without. The huge screen is awesome and the music sounds good so I am sticking with it.
