    You're welcome!

    The grommet is a nice little mod. If the glinting chrome starts to bother you, it isn't too much work to remove the collar and paint it.

    It was catching my eye, so it had to die. Just me though.

    Yeah. Being able to wrap my hand around the whole thing is a big improvement.

    :rofl::rofl:

    Wrapping my hand on a big round knob at the end of a shaft? Yep! It's weird when I get a smile thinking about it.

    I've seen the "never drive uphill" threats before. I've had 6 Tacomas since 1998 and off-roaded in all conditions and NEVER had a problem, including water fording, steep hills in low range, etc. I don't get it.

    Getting ready to change the oil in my transmission. Everyone seems to love Redline MT-90, but when I went to buy it some of the review said it was crap in cold weather. We see -10 F all the time here, and the occasional -30 or -40. Anyone running it in their truck in cold climates that can give me some feedback on its cold weather performance?

    I’m running amsoil and haven’t had any issues in the extreme cold. My brother didn’t have any issues either when it was stupid cold in northern Minnesota this year.

    I had an ‘18 DCLB and never really had an issue with the way the trans worked. I’d use ECT or “manual” mode. Got tired of the long wheelbase and bought this yesterday. Anyone who says the 3.5 is a dog needs the stick. It’s no 4.0 but it is way better with the manual!

    Nice upgrade.

    Yeah, but OVT on the 3rd Gen covers the gap to the bottom end torque of the old 4.0l. Once you get up there, it ain't even close.

    Congrats! :cheers:

    I really enjoyed FOB, but let's just say that 2.0 is next level. The version we got to test was missing some juicy bits also. More are to be posted up this week to try.

    Oh boy. I've been thinking about how to get my wheels powder coated. I can only think of getting a second set to swap in? ;) Although, that isn't likely to happen until early next year.

    Also, as good as the MT is, the stupid clutch accumulator is a weak link. If you are digging into those mods, the ADM costs next to nothing and makes a big improvement:

    There are a few other options including the Dremel mod. @M1Awolf said that it was a piece of cake and works like a charm.

    Just be sure to have a 6pt line wrench.

    All my Tacos have been MT. I have people surprised that I can drive one. So for the last 25 years I've been using a clutch. When I rent a small SUV, so my 140 Shepard, can be comfortable on long trips, that muscle memory keeps trying push that clutch. I love the control of a MT. Friends from the UK think it's great to have it. A lot of what they drive there is manual.

    Seems like all of the MT drivers have nothing to complain about in terms of the engine performance.
