This is a good idea. Obviously chain growth is different depending on frame but it does shift fine on a bike stand. So this would make sense

I'm with ya on that, I've been running eagle for drivetrain and zees for brakes for a couple years and I love it. I will say I'm curious to try the newer code r's as I did like the modulation of guides but hated the failures :)

Can anyone give feedback on this? Found it local for sale, description says 2003 Santa Cruz size medium chameleon. New to this side of the house, wanted to see if it’s something worth getting into.

    Thanks, Mike

Would also consider hydraulic disk brakes as a minimum. That thing is ancient...

Usually frame material is better on the highest number. The lower 2 numbers are normally different component specs on an alloy frame.

    Think SR5, TRD Sport, Pro

Got me doin that for sure.

Look at a few at the shop 30 minutes away in the middle of nowhere Missouri.

Roscoe 6,7, and 8 in-stock but then you reach the Roscoe 8, then there’s a Stache 5 sitting there around the same price point as the Roscoe 8 :notsure:

Roscoe 8 is a bit better equipped than the Stache 5.

SRAM Guides are fantastic. I have the Ultimates and yes they had a seal issue on the 2015-16 models and they sent brand new ones to me no charge. They are still doing that.

Codes are really great for serious downhill. Guides will handle most blue bike park type trails.

The bleeding process is what sold me. So damn simple!

What changed in the bleeding process of the codes vs the guides?
