I could've swore I saw you in the FJ this morning but it had the same wheels as your truck so I thought you swapped them over. But then I forgot you just got new tires for the FJ

What size tires are you running? 265 70 r17?

any rubbing? did you have to CMC?

 

Had plenty of plastic to massage with the heat gun and a little cutting. No CMC and no rub. I’ve stuffed them at full turn in drive, but not reverse. Have minimal lift with my 885s in front

The only downsides were the avg gas mileage drop (when accounting for tire size difference) and the overdrive usage. I keep it to 68 indicated max now

Any recommendations on gearing? Since I have a manual, I was thinking 4.88's, but I hear that the automagics would love 5.29.

 

Your correct. The truck completely transforms the truck with 5.29s...I know sounds nuts.
Just ordered mine this eve.
I have read that the manuals do like the 4.88s w/ 33s and maybe a bit of armor.
If you go bigger or heavier, 5.29s would be the way to go. I have been talking to several people who have geared, regeared, etc.
Should you want to do this or go for a ride in my truck when it happens, let me know.
