Fuck it I ordered some inner tie rods too, watched the Low Range video and it looks like I'd be dumb to not just do both inner and outer while I'm down there. For all I know it's the inners that are causing the wonky steering anyway.

The wheel play I have pretty much indicates one or both need to be replaced, not very expensive anyway. The 555 inners are only $30 each. Got OEM outers (both) for about $120. With the new LBJs and inner/outer tie rods I can rest easy on the front end for now. Well, until it comes time to do the LCA bushings. But I don't want to think about that right now

LOL as if owning a 90s Landcruiser would be cheaper in the long run....it'll need all new mods and probably get worse mileage than my truck gets

yessir...well not in the steering wheel, it's more of a sketchy wandering while driving feel. I can hold the wheel steady with both hands in a straight line and the truck still feels like it wants to go side to side, I have to constantly adapt to it. Especially noticeable at freeway speed.

The steering wheel feels normal (got the sloppy Tacoma steering wheel feel but no worse than usual).

All those back to back to back weekends of wheeling the first couple years of having my truck are catching up to it

Oh yeah for sure, I'm a box/link guy anyway. But yeah the box is serviceable, just like it seems everything on the 80 series. Freaking awesome that was designed that way
