even if it’s a full day job getting it back to stock it’s worth it for me and most in Cali I’d reckon

So if my math is correct 385 is 85% (15% drivetrain loss) of~450. So roughly 450hp at the crank, that's as much as a raptor!!!

Raptor HO makes 450 or so claimed to the tire's, but it's also a heavy as hell truck to boot. Even a Tacoma with all the bells and whistles decked out (bumpers, roof rack bed rack, etc) wouldn't barely touch the raptor in weight.

Yeah, huge weight difference between a Raptor and Tacoma. My truck is 4900lb with me in it per my county's recycling scale.

Per google, curb weight of 2018 Raptor DCSB = 5525lb, Tacoma DCSB = 4480lb, so our trucks are 1,045lb or 19% lighter than a raptor!

Similar power + 19% weight savings = a lot of fun!!!

The raptor is 450 at the crank, not the wheels.

"Hennessey measured a max of 365 horsepower and 422 lb.-ft. of torque at the Raptor's rear wheels"

Oops my bad! Thought it was wheel not crank power, makes me wonder if that's wheel which is much higher then the normal EB, how much more can a tune really squeeze from that engine? I'm thinking not a whole lot more, to much more boost and your in reliability issues?

I wondered the same and looked at Cobb's tune. They claim 15-17% peak gains, good but not groundbreaking.

This is what 5Star tuning is putting out for the F150, without swapping turbos, the Tacoma will produce more power and torque (if the engine can hold at the higher boost levels). The Tacoma has a higher compression ratio, which leads to higher power increases with boost than a factory turbocharged engine.

Lots of variables to get that power down including the Raptors superior auto trans. The older V8 Raptor at altitude was only making slightly over 400 on a Dyno in Denver area. A turbo Taco should walk over the prior gen raptor pretty easily at least at 6000 ft.

There was a member on here with a turbo 1st gen in Jamaica (I think?) awhile that grenaded his flywheel doing a heavy pull and it nearly broke through the bottom of the floor of the cab, could have been real ugly if it had lol. I'll see if I can try and find the thread, I believe he had a build thread that he mentioned it in.

You'll definitely want a heavy duty one if you intend on really pushing it. I know with the TRD blowers the stock clutch was supposedly "fine" on 1st/2nd gens but most people that drove theirs hard found that it was wise to upgrade the clutch too eventually.

Still have the stock clutch on mine but tbh I don't push it super hard like that, though I'm sure my clutch won't last as long as someone with an n/a truck

edit - found the thread, I think he was actually still supercharged when it happened
