I set up online accounts with all three CB's for my wife and myself and did a credit freeze on all six accounts. I can go online and unfreeze a specific account anytime I want. This also helps to prevent anyone from opening a fraudulent account in our names.

Lol, some of you are high strung AF. This is nowhere near the type of situation that calls for lawyers, etc...

If you are concerned, you can file a dispute with the credit bureaus (Credit Karma lets you do this really easily). You can also try and leverage this mistake to get something from the dealer. See if they'll give you a free accessory, discount on serivce, or whatever, for the trouble and then leave it be. It sounds like an honest mistake.

I can not agree more with your statement. If you find a good shop Dealer Salesperson stick with them !!

The dealerships sales manager called me a few minutes ago. They are willing to take a pretty big loss on the trade in to make this right. Nearly 10K loss. I did have to say my next step is going to be contacting corporate and the BBB. But he said he wants to avoid that if at all possible...

Lmao! Just got back from fishing when my daughter took that picture.

They are not the best looking shoes, but hard to beat for fishing at their price range.

Are you currently leasing it ? I didn't realize a dealer would ask you to trade in a lease early if your are indeed leasing it.

That’s great as long as they don’t make it up on the purchase. They’re still probably only giving you what they can get back.

Should have frozen your credit reporting accounts before talking to the dealer. The inquiry would have resulted in nothing for the dealer.

Go through a bank or better yet, go with a credit union. The dealership will run you through a shit ton of banks and really fuck your credit. I made that mistake going through a dealership and my score dropped like 60 points because they ran it through like 20 different lenders to get the best rate.. My credit wasnt that good back then so I suffered through it. Now I have excellent credit and got the lowest mortgage rate and auto loan through Navy Federal Credit union.

Interesting that if you go to a dealer and they do a credit check...and you decide to go to another dealer for a competitor bid...they will do the same thing and double ding you and so on. Best stick to your servicing dealer and bite the bullet if you want or need a new vehicle and want financing.

If you are going to pay cash or already have WITH YOU proof of an outside pre-approved credit source (don't want to have a credit check), take a typed letter for Credit Check Refusal and ask a sales manager to sign and date it, before you first start negotiation and/or have a trade-in. Once you get that signed no problem AND you have proof of the request NOT TO CHECK YOUR CREDIT.

    BE SMART!!! BE PREPARED !!!!

I can not believe people give the BBB any weight. The organization is a joke. I knew once they contacted mh dad and for a fee you could have an A+ rating. Same with yelp, he was contacted and Yelp offered to remove low star reviews.

you don't get double dinged if it's multiple inquiries made within a short period of time
