You mean I wasted money on 33" tall tires?

Could be a seal fit issue on the hood, or doors, or the back window is open, but that should show as wind noise vs road noise. Most road noise is the tires on the road surface. (Duh) perhaps these tires are much different and new than what you are used to. Did you normally drive on P rated highway traction tires? Did you have a canopy or cover on the truck box, bed mat stuff in the truck? All those will change the sounds you are hearing as well.

Agreed, that is probably one of my biggest concern - it WAS a twenty year old vehicle. The 1997 taco had marginal brakes as well. I'm liking the four-pot brakes on the 2016.

Luxury sedan people expecting luxury out of a utility pickup truck which serves as their new “reclaimed manhood” status symbol to the rest of the cul de sac, and now we have to hear about how non luxury it is. Over and over again.

It’s like when beards came back into fashion. TONS of guys equipped beard. Look at those hipsters in skinny jeans with beards...

That combination should be punishable on the spot with a kick in the balls. It’s like putting whipped cream on a steak...

I almost feel like I should try that but I like my steak all na-tur-al.

I dunno. I owned a Gen2 and actually test drive my Gen3. Hasn’t been any surprises. I even have a button to defrost the side mirrors and no car wash leaks. Probably still lemon law it so I can afford a sweet ass gladiator though.

Too quiet for my taste. I had to install the TRD CAI & EHXAUST combo to make it a little louder, still not enough. Will install the BFG TKO2 tires next. (If wanted something with a bed that also drives like a car, the ridgeline could be an option, but not thanks)

Hah! You know originally I had been thinking very hard about one of those things. Here’s a story for you.

As I was driving past the local Jeep dealer yesterday, I noticed they had a bright red Gladiator parked right up front near the entrance. I decided to turn around to take a closer look at it.

As I pulled in, I noticed the salesmen waiting outside like buzzards on a tree waiting for the critter to die. I knew they would try to swamp me, so I just parked as quickly as I could without making eye contact and made a beeline for the truck.

I made it to the truck before one of them could catch me and the first thing I noticed was that is was a baseline sport model. MSRP of around $33500. This one had pimp-a-licious wheels and low sidewall tires, fine if your wheelin through the ghetto I guess but I wouldn’t want them. About that time, the salesman arrives and says to me “Sharp looking isn’t it?” I respond with a shrug and a “Meh...”

Because of the tires and wheels and the fact there was no sticker, I asked him if it was used and he told me that it was brand new. They had just gotten it in, replaced it with the “nice wheels and tires” and were planning on a lift for it next. I asked him how much they were asking and he said it’s still to be determined but that it would probably fall around the $55k mark!

I almost choked when he said it. I told him that’s fucking crazy especially considering it’s a base sport model. 55k is more than msrp for the Rubi and he told me “No, the Rubi is over 65k. I corrected him and told him that the MSRP on the Rubi is $43.5 and he said “I’m not going to argue with you but no it’s not.” That’s when I realized what I was dealing with and basically just laughed said ok thanks, and walked away.

I now know that when people talk about slimy dealerships, this place is ground zero.

Fuck Jeep, fuck gladiators, fuck that stealership and thank god for my Tacoma.

Traded my diesel grand Cherokee in for my taco. Thing spent more time in the shop than in the road. Three codes once a month, whole fuel system failure...Chrysler quality is very poor these days

Problem solved. Dealer replaced the door seal. Wasn’t seating right

Drove it 80 mph this morning and no noise. Now I can listen to all my luxury vehicle, reclaimed manhood, Yanni and Michale Bolton in peace. Maybe I’ll grow a beard too. :sadviolin:

For at least 20 years now. Love when guys get on the Mopar, Ford and Chevy kicks. Most times they still try to throw around the American made and how great even the new models run.

They way I see it, if it’s one of the three and is new enough for fuel injection, I’ll pass.

Oh and just passed a Gladiator pulling a super mini airstream in the wild. Talk about a yuppy I want to show off combo.

Rather just have a tent this this nonsense.

Edit: 41k for that thing?!!

Glad to hear you got it fixed. The Tacos can be noisy, especially third gen. To a certain extent, that is part of their appeal. Within reason, of course.....
