Looks like a serious can of worms to me. If your team loses because the star cant play that day, it could ugly.

While the NBA is mulling potential changes to its schedule to reduce the strain on players over the course of a marathon season, NFL owners want to expand the regular season to 18 games in a move to increase revenue.

The Wall Street Journal’s Andrew Beaton reported this week that in a collective bargaining meeting between the NFL and the NFLPA, owners pitched an idea for an 18-game regular season with a potential limit on each players appearances. According to the report, under the proposed system, players could potentially play in a maximum of 16 games, to maintain the normal workload of an NFL season.

I could definitely get down with an 18 game season. I think it adds a level of complexity to planning and strategy. I also realize it’s a play for more money for owners and the league in general. If they do it right I’d be all for it.

I think that's a great idea, but they should make it so that a player can only play 12 regular season games like things USED to be. They should then allow teams a slightly higher salary cap to allow for more players.

Then things really will come down to how well they work AS A TEAM instead of how well individual players perform.

Fantasy leagues will become a shit-show. Even less "work" will be done at work.

I'm for 18 games too, but for the money they charge to see a live game these days it would be pretty disappointing to not see your starting QB, or star running back, Etc. It would definitely add a level of complexity trying to figure out who you could beat any given week without player X. There's always the on any given Sunday factor, a scrub team suddenly getting hot, injuries, Etc. Maybe two bye weeks for each team to keep it at 16 played games? :notsure:

Looks like a moot point anyway. The players union isn't going for it.

Didn't realize Raiders let Latavius go.

He sprung the long one on us a couple years ago.

Niner fan :anonymous: I just wish Mahome's was my QB. I think KC is going to be a force this season. My Niner's who knows? Jimmy Handsome is still unproven. If they aren't as injury riddled as last season, maybe .500 ?

I'll take that as it's an improvement.

A bills fan in El Paso makes as much sense as a Dallas fan in Eastern NC

Assuming you’re a transplant just like I am?

My good friend is a Bills fan too and we commiserate quite often

Not a transplant, I was born and raised in El Paso. I did not have a team when I was a kid and got tired hearing about the Cowboys. The Bills were actually really god and I jumped on the bandwagon, thing is I never jumped off.
