@Gunshot-6A while bored at work today I was looking at air force bases to dream about where I want my wife to be stationed next. I decided on Hill AFB which sounds like it's right in your neck of the woods. The area looks awesome!

I go to Hill a few times a year. It's not as great as it sounds. Beautiful area though.

Well yeah bases themselves are usually pretty depressing, but the surrounding area looks nice. And only 4 hours from moab

Just up the freeway about 45 mins. Lotta people love Hill. I know some of the 75th medical folks up there, and it's a pretty small community so it might be tight trying to get up here.

We'll see when the time comes, which won't be for years. I just want to get out west somewhere, and what's nice about pediatricians is they can pretty much go anywhere.

I guess what I don't like about it is that I always feel like an outsider. It's hard to put my finger on it but somehow I feel if I moved there I wouldn't be welcomed. The mountains are gorgeous though.

I'm an outsider as well (grew up in Manassas mostly) and it isn't bad at all. Some odd bits of song and dance, but nothing that will slow you down in the day to day.

As far as the "church going members of Utah", they are like everyone else. Lots of good folks, a few assholes mixed in.

I like the rumors. Keeps all the people out. Not for much longer though. We're being "discovered" the last few years.

I told her pretty much what you said, nothing is going to affect our day to day. Anyways, she's on board with it. Really anywhere in this area I'd be happy with.

Mountain Home and Fairchild are pretty good spots to be too. Ellsworth has a pretty cool town center just outside main gate but it was a pretty small world. I'd skip ND if you had the choice.

Not sure how you feel about CA, but Travis was a pretty cool place the 4 years we were there when my dad was stationed there.

I grew up there, 30 min north of LA. Loved growing up there and being able to rip around on my dirt bike. But I'm sure I can get that in neighboring states too, without the hassles of CA.

I was a 909 baby, but moved away shortly after. Moved back for work a few years ago, and couldn't wait to escape LA. Def made the right decision to move to UT.

I always crack up when people say that. I know what dry heat is, and it’s still hot AF and I want nothing to do with it. :angrygirl:
