I don't think there is sufficient clearance to put it there, but I don't have the fuse panel in hand to know for sure. You are correct, other trucks have it down near the fuel tank I believe

    Sad to report:

The Yeti is down, repeat, the Yeti is down...

Issue reared it's ugly head about 3 weeks ago with a strange hooshing sound during starting and no other time; very repeatable, very loud.
Straw that broke the camel's back was last night at Issaquah Costco and truck wouldn't even crank over, no starter clicking, no engine spinning, nothing.
After two tries, she started up with the typical hoosh sound.

Took it to the Renton Toyota and had the Service Manager listen to it and they "think" it's the starter...

    Boooo…..

Maybe relocating the charcoal canister or replacing it with a smaller one from another vehicle would be an option then.

I've been procrastinating adding a fuse block for the same reason, though I may just run some fused 6-10 gauge and put it under the dash where the radio is

If you are short on time, I wouldn't bother. If you have time, try and find the Upper ball joint re-boot kit if they don't have play. Much cheaper than fully replacing.

Even though your lower ball joints (LBJs) may "look" good, it's quite the failure if/when it happens and will ruin your trip. It's cheap insurance to just replace both of them with OEM parts before your trip. It will be much cheaper than a tow and replacing your quarter panel, flare, and more that gets destroyed.

Are you sure that DOT 5.0 has never been used in the truck? That would ruin the seals. DOT 3, 4, and 5.1 are "compatible" as in any of those won't ruin the seals, but 5.0 will.

Carefull with used drivelines. I bought a used DL for my 4x swap. Looked to be in decent condution. Had balance checked on it and it had to be cut and re-welded to get balance.

After paying for the DL... and then paying what it cost to make it balanced. I was right at what a new Spicer DL would have cost.

I put a small one on the existing fuse box lid, but you can probably get a larger one on there.
