Yeah I went back and saw that but how do you get the program? Wonder if it can be found and DLed by torrent?

 

The one I'm familiar with using lets you turn cylinders off and on through the console. They call that a power balance test.

I think cracked versions can be downloaded from this link. There are usually some "older free" versions around for download. I've seen the code behind the one for Nissan Consult. It was written in C and if I remember correctly is like one big case statement that tests the ECU's 16 registers for hex values. The hex code values translate to sensor and status readings. The Windows user interface makes the information human-friendly.

I have one of those old Panasonic tough books from back in the day. I wonder if it would be able to support TechStream? I'll quit bugging you and get my brother to help lol thanks again

 

Just buy a new OEM one, I only paid about $150 from Camelback.

 

Nissan makes it too easy with NDS. They even have it for Android now.

There should be a Windows version number with each download. The trick is to get the cable and get the right COM drivers installed to support the cable. Once your computer can communicate with the cable and ECU, the software installation should be easy. There ought to be some Toyota clubs that post information about setting up Techstream. The Nissan clubs know the secret software codes to open and reprogram chip keys. They tell you how to get all into your ECU. Most of this that software came from Australia. Aussies can crack into anything.

 

For sure. I've used it to find bad injectors on Nissans.
