    I believe that. A friend has an Outback and he goes places and does things with it that would shock most people. Doesn't beat on it, just carefully navigates his way through.

    He attributes it to the AWD system.

    Just a six in mine but it would bog down & pull from idle. Sounded like it was gonna stall with such low RPM but it just wouldn’t get stuck or die.

    Brake fluid is hydroscopic (acts like a sponge) to remove moisture from the system. It should be flushed every 2-3 yrs.

    Also, when you panic stop on the freeway for example, the brake fluid can boil a little bit down at the wheels. There's actual tiny air bubbles that can build up over time. Not a ton but enough to contribute to a soft pedal feel.
