I use a carbide blade on my circular saw and my compound miter saw. Some say to turn the blades around, but I don't see that it works any better.

Next question, I know this is not an "electrician" thread but whatever.

I'm going to install a 110V and a 220V outlets outside (next to my garage). Can I run all wires through the same conduit? Or should I use separate conduits for each voltage?.

I know I would have no issue using the same conduit.

Most likely you will need 1" conduit.

A 30 amp breaker will be good for 10 gauge wire to feed the 240 volt welder.

The 20 amp 120 volt wires can be 12 gauge. You can use 14, but might as well be sure.

I know I'm gonna start an argument, but just because you have a 50 amp plug in the welder, does not mean you need a 50 amp breaker and the 8 gauge wire to go with it.

My plugs are changed to 30 amps before I ever use the welders.

Just googles "EMT Wire Fill Chart" and will show how many conductors you can run through X" conduit by wire gauge.

I got 20A for compressor on 110V, also 30A for 220V for welder.

Hi! I'm sure this has been asked before (i'm to lazy to look through the whole post history) But what equipment do you suggest for someone wanting to get into basic welding? I would like to be able to do basic small repairs and maybe a bit of accessory construction. As always looking at a limited budget.

    Vulcan Mig Max 215.

I can't find a better deal or warranty or return policy ( you won't be returning it).

A friend of mine just bought this unit this week. I tried it out and I'm very happy with the performance/quality.

You will be handing this down to your grandkids.

Do you need a torch as well? Sorry, typical newbie.

    Do mean cutting torch?

I sold my torch kit years ago. Using a portable metal cutting band saw has been my main way of cutting metal.

If you mean welding torch, well, the welder cones with the needed welding torch, we call them MIG guns for short.

As I understand it, I need a 3/4in ID conduit.

Your pretty much just running from a panel in your shop through the wall to the outside .

You want two different breakers one for the 120VAC the other 240VAC( or the voltage you have)

The larger the conduit the easier to pull the wires

I thought you had a Plasma cutter don`t like using it for Aluminum?

The real reason I bought mine that sits unused for years now.

Limited budget and welding never go together !

It is a ever growing collection of tools .

Living where you do myself I can`t live without a Oxy-Fuel Torch then using them the last few years since the early seventies .

Knowing how to braze is also a good reason

So very hard to heat with a porta band or a plasma cutter.

It all depends just what you might get into one can never have enough clamps or in my case 4" or 4 1/2" grinders with the assorted disc options.

Lets not forget the safety gear glasses ear plugs gloves .

Welding hood those are about the hardest thing if it does not feel right it gets tossed aside to let others watch .

Myself if I had to make do with one process it would be stick for the majority of what I do any more

Did I not say enjoy the down time while you have it !

That's me everyday after work and every weekend. The heat/humidity here in AR is killer. :bananadead: :rain: I definitely miss the non-existent humidity from my time living in NM. :tumbleweed:
