Has anyone ordered the 2018 TRD Pro Grill with Sensor Garnish and installed it?

I unboxed it and the sensor garnish will not clip in. I've watched videos online of the install and it clips in pretty easily, but the grill that I have refuses to clip in. I've tried with enough force that I'm afraid I'll damage the garnish or the grill if I try to push any harder. The clips on the bottom section won't go in far enough to actually clip. I think it's also missing some locker pieces for the top section, because those just go through the holes, but there's nothing to keep it locked in.

Has anyone installed this and had a similar experience?

I had to dremel and grind the area the garnish goes in to finally get it to clip in. It's a pain in the ass. I have the mad hornets one as well. You can see where its hitting when you try to push it in

Did you dremel the slots where the clips come through? It almost looks like the thicker part of the clips are too big for it to fit through. While watching a video on how to install it, the guy said that his grill came with these round lock clips for the round part part at the top. Did yours come with anything like that? It looks like the pegs from the garnish just stick through the holes, but nothing is there to keep them in place.

No I dremeled the outline for the garnish in the actual grill. You don't notice anything once the garnish slips in. The clips appear to be off because the way the garnish lines up with the grill is off. Eventually the clips line up after shaving off some plastic.

I had the same issue with another knockoff grill. Had to use a hacksaw blade (just the blade) to make the slots just a little bigger. Tabs would not quite fit into place and lock.

Thanks for the info. Guess I'll have to see if I want to try and return it or try to dremel parts of it out enough to get it to work.

Mine doesn't seem to have come with the star nuts for the top of the garnish, so maybe I'll have to return it.

Yep. Had to dremel mine as well. Not a huge deal.

You can buy the star washers off Amazon. Let me find the link.

Thanks. Maybe I'll just see if I can get it to work.

    Stock. Just purchased.
Did mine this morning. Had to file and cut some stuff with a razor knife to get it right but mine snapped in perfect. You can PM me an I can walk you through what my son and I did.
