Impact Wrench For Suspension and Other Work

Where? Why would they change to a 20v system a few years after the released their li-ion one, their whole line of cordless tools is based off the 18v battery.

hahaha don't get your panties twisted over it, I'll grab more pics and specs when he's back tomorrow. I could be wrong about the 20V/18V thing, I just asked him and he said 20V. Could be a mistake on his end. He told me that most snap-on tools are distributed on the east coast first, but this one debuted on the west coast first. Also, I've seen every one of AvE's BOLTR's so I'm just as interested as you are!

 

Panties aren’t twisted, it’s just the funkiest looking Snap-on impact I’ve ever seen and the fit and finish isn’t what I’d expect out of them.

And it’d be cool to find a knockoff snap-on, they’re anal about licensing.

 

Idk about the fit and finish being funky, I'll examine a bit more but it felt like a quality tool in every aspect. He used to be full time at Roush, and now he works for Ford. Unless the trucks are selling knock-off tools, it's legit.

 

What about the Earthquake one at Harbor Freight?

 

@Usethe2nd, it appears to be the CT9075 going through early stage of release. Looks odd having proportions off and the angle where the base meets the battery.

 

I still have all my air tools from my automotive repair days. I also have 77 gals of air. I don't use my air tools anymore except for the die grinders. I use Mikwaukee cordless.

I first bought a M18 High Torque cause I already have other M18 tools. Very powerful, blew my old IR impacts away but the damn thing was too big & cumbersome to use all the time. I gave it to my lil brother & got a M18 Mid Torque with 1/2" friction anvil. Has done everthing I've needed & the size is so much better. And if I ever need the 1000+ft/lbs nut busting torque I can always borrow the High Torque from my brother.

I loved using my 3/8" IR impact but I never bothered to get a 3/8" cordless impact. I have a M18 nut driver & that works fine for me. If/when Milwaukee updates their 3/8" M18 compact I'll get one.

Also have a 3/8" M12 cordless ratchet. A little bigger than my air ratchets but I love using it too.

 

I really like their 3/8’s M18 impact. I’m not by any means doing jobs in volume or working on rusted semi’s, who needs 1000 “foot pounds” of backoff?

 

Some people don't get the idea of "Can someone recommend a good impact wrench for a guy who's cheap as hell." Milwaukee, Dewalt, and certainly Snap On doesn't fit the bill on cheap.

The Ryobi P1833 1/2" impact wrench kit can still be found at Home Depot on clearance for $50, which includes 4Ah battery and charger.

That $130 bare tool won't get far without a battery and charger, probably another $150 to add those items.

Hahaha it’s all good brotha, it’s the internet you can’t trust anything. Seems like it’s an 18V rated for 1200ftlb backoff. My numbers weren’t exactly accurate either, but i’ll grab more specs when I can for all of us.

 

Bought the 1/2 Milwaukee 18V Fuel (brushless) Heavy Duty. I think its specs say 1450 ft-lbs removal torque. I believe it. There are some tools on which you can afford to be cheap. A good impact wrench is not one of them. HUGE removal torque. Great unit. This thing was able to remove a spindle nut on my 1999 Acura TL that had never been loosened from the factory in 19 years to replace a screaming wheel bearing! I was amazed. I actually BROKE two breaker bars from the Husky folks at Home Depot (who gladly replaced each one). Nut on axle never budged......until the Milwaukee made it submit. Pricey, but nicey.

I went with the 1/2 inch for the increased ability to bring more metal to the fight when wrestling with super-stuck fasteners/nuts/bolts. I do not regret it.

 

Working for Ford might be the first telltale... (had to)
