Does anyone remember seeing an installation of an anytime camera with a small switch on top of the radio bezel? I either dreamered it or I just can’t find it. TIA for your help.

There is this. I believe you can scroll your front/back cameras via your factory steering wheel controls. No idea how it’s installed or if it’s any good.

I don't think that's what they were after. I remember it, too. Someone used an inexpensive, round switch with an LED (I think) and drilled into the top of the radio bezel to wire it in.

Edit: it's either gonna be in this thread or the "other" one, which I'm pretty sure is somewhere in the 3rd Gen Marketplace.

it's pretty good. completely plug and play (no cutting or splicing). if you're not installing a front camera for offloading, it's probably the better/easier option as the camera only stays on for 30 seconds before it goes back to the radio display.

edit: actually, holding the up button until it beeps will keep the camera on. so, this is probably the best option for a front camera.

On that version can you make it stay on longer? When I drove Death Valley on some of the harder trails I had my front camera on for hours

i have the same switch as you and have some questions...

when activating the front camera, does both the front and rear lights light up on the switch? then when activating the rear only the rear lights up?

also, when you deactivate the front camera, does it go to the back up camera for a quick moment before going to your radio screen?

Buy this. Uses radio control buttons on steering wheel. Plug in play. No added wiring needed.

Out of the box, no; but I’m sure someone could hack into it to stay on longer. I think it’s more suited for people who want a front cam for parking or a quick check of their surroundings.

If someone wants a front camera for off roading, I think a switched camera is better.

After having my anytime backup camera full kit sitting in the drawer for about six months (it was my Christmas present from my wife), I finally installed it this week. Couple of minor notes on the installation, and my mistakes.

First, I had assumed that the mounting tab on the relay was also a ground for the relay. Nope, checked continuity from tab to ground wire, nothing. My bad. But, in the process, I did find that the tab could be removed, making it easy to mount the tab to the truck, then slide the relay back onto the tab.

Also, regarding grounds, I wired all my grounds to a common ground (except for the one from the camera). I terminated them into a crimp on ring. I originally tried to attach that to the chassis under the same screw that the relay was mounted with. The thickness of the crimp connector interfered with my socket, woudn't let me tighten down the screw completely. So, as most others have done, relay mounted on the passenger side chassis screw, grounds on the driver side.

A couple of videos I have found on the installation show people connecting the front camera power into an add-a-fuse in the under-hood fuse box. But, a video from anytimebackupcamera.com used the little red pigtail wire on the video cable to connect power from the 12 volt wire on the relay. That is what I chose to do, and it seems to be working properly.
    https://www.anytimebackupcamera.com...-the-anytime-backup-and-front-camera-full-kit

Major mistake I made, dropped a 10mm wrench inside the dashboard. Had to remove the lower center console to retrieve it. PITA!

Soldered all my splices, then electric taped over solders. Probably should have used heat shrink over the solders, but my patience was wearing thin. :)

Also, mounted the front/rear switch in the left had cubby using a panel from forty2skates via shapeways.

Also mounted a switch from AirOnBoard for the Navigation Override (I chose the flux capacitor switch). Haven't had a chance to try the NavOver yet to see if it works, or if I can go back to the future.

I think I’d like to get this (front-rear,nav), how long it’s taking to do a nice clean install?

Does that nav bypass only allow access to it’s menus or all the menus in entune?

Anyone recommend one dash pry toolset over another?

Took me a total of about nine hours, but that included a lot of running up and down the stairs to get tools from the basement, plus the time lost removing the center console to retrieve the wrench I dropped inside the dash, plus the time I spent checking on youtube for instruction videos.

Regarding the pry tools, I used a Natika front license plate frame camera, and it came with a pry tool. However, I found I didn't need it. One pull on the right end of the radio bezel and the whole thing came off. It might have been useful for remove the cubby bezel, but I had already removed that months ago (used my little pocket knife for a pry tool, worked fine for me but I don't recommend it).

The nav bypass lets you perform functions that you can't currently perform while the vehicle is in motion, but can perform while the vehicle is stopped. It make the system think that the vehicle is not moving so that you can perform the otherwise unavailable functions.

Just finished my install. Couple of issues:

    1. The rear camera comes on with the DPDT switch in the "REAR CAMERA" position only. If the DPDT switch is in the middle position and I put the Taco in reverse, the rear camera does not come on. Is this normal?

    2. The front camera does not come on at all. The screen does change however. Before I push the switch I have FM radio screen, after I push the front camera switch the screen changes to black. So I am assuming the relay is working but the camera is not. I pushed the switch to "FRONT CAMERA" and then checked for 12V at the front camera + and - cables. No power. I wired the RCA red pigtails on the front camera RCA extension to the red wire on the relay switch. Any ideas why I am not getting 12V at the front camera?

    My switch wiring diagram:
