Anyone got a reference for a good paint guy that won’t charge me an arm and a leg to make this not so bad?

It's an easy one for a pro! You don't want to see what I mess I could make. I did rescue my burned clear coat, on the door tops and sills, and it was "pretty good". But the truck was 11 years old, with 191K when I did it, so everything is relative!

 

Got to remove the door handle screw - probably can get away with not removing the top sill and switches to take a peek.

 

Yeah I’ve gotten pretty proficient at it. I’ve rewired the window in my rear driver side twice in the life of the truck. We’ll try it out if we can both make it.

Like the film thing? I had one on my corolla. It was really nice. When the clear coat on the hood and roof started flaking off, the front half of the hood and bumper still looked great!

 

Did it come with the vehicle when you purchased it originally ?

 

This is to say it actually did a good job. I just refuse to buy a dark blue Toyota EVER again.

Not sure. I bought the car with 105k miles on it. He'll of a car though. Drove it across the country a few times and got rid of her at 180k. Still running strong the day I got rid of her. I even teared up a bit when driving off the lot in a Tacoma and leaving my little gayrolla behind.
