tried.... but failed. got one of those novelty fog light switches. can’t seem to find the right combo to wire it in place of the stock switch. any suggestions?

i get the fog lights to go on and off, but the switch leds don’t illuminate when they’re supposed to. then i can get the switch leds to go in and off, but the dogs don’t work.

You have conflicting wiring diagrams. One has 12v switched to relay and the other switches relay to ground.

I've wired a few of these types of switches into my truck. You need to tap the yellow wire into another lit up dash switch. And the ground needs to be tapped into the dash swich ground because they ground through the dimmer switch. The ground wire is only for the switch LEDs it has nothing to do with the fogs.

to use the oem harness you need an oem switch, as you can see the wiring is different and the two switches aren't interchangeable. You could us the new switch buy only with all new wiring.

Installed a tailgate damper (EZDown) ... works as advertised, but the able is getting in the way a bit. Anyone have any experience with one of these?
Also trying out a DIY mod to address the constant steel-on-steel impact (and powdercoat damage) for my swing gate when opening/closing the latch ... have a small piece of rubber around the latch and post, have to see how it'll hold up.

Aren't pivot points like that usually just greased?

The round bar in the picture sits in the cradle, the latch swings around that. The latch moves freely, but when it locks in, it's coming in contact with the metal and scrapes a bit. Over time, the powder coat has worn away. I don't recall it ever being greased.

Snugtop uses a similar idea on their rear hatch latches so I suppose it could work. It's obvious the paint won't sustain the wear.

I'd check/complain to the manufacturer, but they're no longer around so ... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
