Colby fought the perfect fight

 

It’s been a while since I’ve seen RL so literally paralyzed in the octagon like this. He had zero answers for Colby.

 

It seems pretty clear Colby can back up what he says. Obviously his persona is an act that is paying dividends for him so that doesn’t bother me any more than McNuggets antics did (OK, McNugget got on my nerves) but he is skilled and this was a brilliant performance. So, Usman or Covington?

 

That’s the question. Usman is a wicked wrestler in his own right. Look at his fight with woodley. Jesus Christ, he dominated woodley equally if not more than what Colby just did to Lawler. I feel like that matchup is pretty underrated. That’s going to be a bad ass fight. Maybe it’ll pick up more attention now that Colby’s pretty much got the next title shot in the bag.

 

Before this fight I would have said Usman. Now, not so much. Colby just out-struck Lawler and Usman couldn’t do that in my opinion. The wrestling will be a draw but Colby has better cardio and his standup has improved exponentially. I think Colby takes it.

Well from the sound of it my prediction got shot to shit. Glad I didn't put money on this one. I just downloaded the fights so I'll watch them in a few hours. lol

I think Colby’s strategy just gassed him early on and he never recovered.

 

RL has good head movement and knows how to roll to stay in the pocket like that. Colby did his thing and that grind+pace...fucking relentless. I honestly thought RL was going to start heating up inside the pocket in the 4th and 5th to take out Colby. So much for that..lol
