Have the Pro style grille and TSS on my 2019 Off-Road. Would like some kind of low profile brush bar to mount some lights. But most I've seen will interfere with TSS.. I was hoping to avoid complete bumper replacement, although may have to go that route. Any thoughts from the group ? Thanks..

Excellent extra light output, imo. It’s a fairly simple installation. There’s an install video on the product page... We’re all still learning here, but get your $$ in order. There are tons of nice mods for Tacomas. Welcome to TW & enjoy the new truck!

Ps - got the tss sensor to work with the stock grille plug. Not a fan on the shiny insert

You can also mount it directly to the aluminum bumper behind the body panel bumper. Metal leg bolts right into sumbitch. @CaliRaisedLed gets great reviews and haven’t seen any complaints but you can save the $. It is a little bit of a pain in the ass installing that way. Not worried about the $, go @CaliRaisedLed.

Saw the install video. What is the difference in the LED options, Spot beam vs Combo beam ? Is one designed as a "driving light (long range)" and one more of a "fog light/normal light" ?? When would you use one vs the other ?

    Thanks,

    Tony

I know a little about lighting. So I'm going to Jump-In

Spot Lights / Long Range Lights are designed for Long Range. The usually have a narrow beam of light, very bright, higher wattage current draw. And can illuminate objects a longer distances. Usually work best mounted higher up in a vehicle.

Euor Beams / Driving Lights are a modified High Beam design. They are best suited for high speed driving. They are brighter than normal High Beams. But usually not quite as bright as Spot Beams. They have a beam pattern similar to normal headlights. And usually work best mounted around the same level as your OE lighting.

Fog Lights and Flood lights are similar in design because they are intended for illuminating objects close up. They differ in use because: Fog lights are primarily used down low beneath your OE lighting. And the reflectors / beam pattern are designed to have a sharp cut-off to keep the light down low. While Flood Lights are used like a normal light source for Area Lighting. They have a broad beam pattern. And usually work best mounted up high. Or used for auxiliary back-up lighting.

Combination Beams usually consist of Spot / Euor Beams. This gives you overlapping beam patterns for long range illumination and high speed driving. But, you will have to compromise on a mounting location. OE fixture hight best for Euro / Driving Lights. Or a roof mount best for Spot / Long Range Lights. If you mount Spot / Long range lights down low, below the OE beams, you loose some of the long distance capabilities of the fixture. And if you mount Euro / Driving beams up high, you loose some of the benefits of the design of the beam pattern.

    Hope This Helps.

Great info! I would say 90% of our customers go with the COMBO beam for behind the lower bumper for more overall light coverage.

I dont have the Pro grill, but do have the TSS. The CBI Push works great and is much more heavy duty than a regular bull bar. tacoma2.jpg

The directions were straightforward, and I think I only needed two or three different wrenches. I like the angular look of it over the rounded look bars. Goes better with the Tacoma's front end design
