I chaged the diff fluid in the front and rear of my 17 Tacoma 6MT yesterday, as well as the front "diff"/Case and rear diff on my 15 Highlanger yesterday. I was on such a roll, I figured I would change the Tacoma's MT fluid also.
After reading up and seeing that the GL5 fluid I has was no good for the MT synchros...I headed to the parts stores locally. SURPRISE No one has any GL4 only MT fluid/Gear oil. This lead to some funny statements by auto parts salespeople...but before I go off track, has anyone tried this?

It seems to meet the spec for our transmission and seems to be decently priced, I was also going to order their 75W for my Tcase, as others has as well.

Also something is wrong with me, everyone hates gear oil smell. For a very odd reason I love it.

I thought I had heard that GL5 was good for the newer Tacoma MTs...what does it say i the user manual? Should specify in the back where it gives you the quantities

If you're going to order some from online I would get Redline MT90, will makes your shifts smooth as butter

The manual calls for GL4, GL5 has additives that are no good for synchros.
I'm going to use a GL4. I just was curious if anyone had used this GL4.

75W90 GL5 gear oil isn’t recommended in your MT......and on second look that’s GL4, so it meets spec. Haven’t seen anyone use it in their MT, but it’s a top of the line synthetic, especially in the EU

Correct, I am not going to use a GL5, as per the manual I was going to go with GL4, possibly Redline MT90 as @eon_blue pointed out. I was just curious about the Ravenol that is listed as GL4 Manual transmission oil.
