Had dealer do an oil change the other and they didnt change the filter but charged for it. I noticed it because i looked at the skid plate and not a hand mark on it anywhere in the dirt. I then pulled it and saw the filter housing was untouched ( ive done a few on this truck and no way to have zero oil mark on it) Took the filter out and it was pretty dark and dirty, way too dirty for a filter with 12 miles on it). They only dumped the oil and re filled. Anyone else experience this? Going there tomorrow with the filter i took out and discuss with service manager. Be aware as I'd hate to think they are doing this to others

They'll probably claim it was an oversight, but good on you for calling them on it, if everyone lets them get away with it, that kind of behavior is only increase.
I'd be calm and respectful though, the person you talk to, may have no idea the tech either forgot, or deliberately pulled an okiedoke.

Might as well call corporate now. Dealer will deny, deny, deny.

Unfortunately corporate will act like they care and do nothing. Do it yourself.

This is why I change mine myself even though I have "FREE" oil changes.

Most likely the dealer will just do it again just to keep you quiet. Just tell them all you want is the proper oil change you asked for.

Yep, me too. It's a pain, but at least I know the job was done right, and I know what kind of oil went in it.

Get full refund for the Oil change you paid the dealership, that's a given.

Bring receipts of what you bought to do it properly.

Never hurts to ask... Ask for reimbursement for what you paid to do the work yourself. Simply state that that you feel it's a fair ask given all the wasted time because of their employee. (Time at dealer, fixing it, then that conversation). Time is money to them, it should be for you too.

Be professional and calm, you'll be surprised what people will do to correct a wrong when you give them the opportunity.

Yup, this happened to me as well. The service manager and director did not give a shit as well. No call backs from messages or letter. I posted a thread a couple months ago. Stay away from Cool Springs Toyota in Franklin TN for service.

When they were actual filters and not cartridge's I would mark mine with a silver tip sharpie. One time I hopped under to mark the new mileage, to my surprise my handwriting was still there from the last oil change. I bought my new truck from the other dealership and haven't been back to the other.

I have a feeling this happens all the time with the newer filters since they're a hassle to get off.

Thats fucked up. I honestly dont trust my dealer after dealing with them for about a year. Like others have said, it seems like they dont care. I would rather do my own oil changes and simple maintenance. Bring her in for recalls and thats about it.

    Good luck man!
