Part time for me right now would be like 50 hrs. Expensive ass week this week too. Finally got my back window on my cap replaced, dryer broke so we bought a new washer/ dryer, and wife's car had a mysterious vibration so it ended up at the dealer for a couple of days. Then took two 8 yr olds to the boardwalk today which was probably more expensive than all of the other stuff put together.

Ha, nope we enjoyed the day at Tuscarora State Park, in the heart of the coal region.

 

Anyone want to go to RC or AOAA next Sunday 8/11? Looking to make the trip down and camp the night before, and I understand that you need at least two trucks to go out, so I'd like to hookup with someone ahead of time before going down.

 

Im from SW PA. Anyone recommend any camping areas (not so much the typical campgrounds) that one could take their family thats primitive and out of the way.

Been considering a small camper or even RTT to purchase but want to see where we can go before we buy anything.

We’re just not big fans of social campgrounds and some of their nightly rates.

Just want nature and to see some cool places with the family.

Is there a thread or something for this? What ram ball do I need and how does it attach to a longer bolt? What's the bolt size. Yadda yadda yadda. Thread? Hahah

Wife and kids were at the beach all weekend. Had me a Tacomalicious time. Neighbor helped me load the new(er) bed into the garage and I got started.

1st pic is before work. Minor rust on only the underside, none external. Pay no mind to the stuffed animal, was a pic to goof around with my daughter.



2nd pic after wire brush and angle grinder flap disc. Found two small holes to patch.


Sand blasted before getting to the welding. Picked up a welding cart to organize my stuff, coupon deal for $30 at Harbor Freight while grabbing some blasting material.



One hole patched before bed. After patching then seam sealer, rust converter, primer, then 3M body Schutz the whole underside. Gonna flip it over and then bedliner the bed. I don't plan on ever needing to care for the bed again by the time I'm done. Will be set for another 100K miles.

 

You have a lot of work ahead of you. The biggest problem you have is not the rust but where it is located. It is in the seams where the the cross members meet the bed floor and inside those hollow cross members. I would consider removing and replacing those cross members since you can access them. You will need an air chisel for that and good ear protection. Or....

 

Almost any state park has primitive camping. Cooks forest and clear Creek have some areas along the Clarion River. They are first come first serve though and busy during summer. Best bet is to arrive Thursday before most everyone come for the weekend.
