Typical tourist question incoming... If I were to fly into MDW and stay for a day what are some cool spots I should check out? Also is there any go-to spot for some authentic deep dish pizza anyone can recommend? I've heard of Giordano's, is that just a touristy spot or should I try them out?

Go to Uno’s or Lou Malnatis for deep dish.....also find a Portillos and get a Italian Beef sandwich with gardinare or without if you don’t like spicy.
Edit ......and tell them you want it dipped

Portillos is good but $12 for a beef?
Plenty of stands that have em. I personally as a fat guy recommend a combo. “A Italian beef and Italian sausage on French bread!” Yes... you must get the hot giardiniera. Giardiniera is an Italian relish of pickled vegetables
if you fly into O’Hare and stay in The .northwest suburbs hit Lou’s in Elk Grove Village... https://www.loumalnatis.com/
and get the deep dish sausage and pepperoni. Downtown Chicago..unos or Lou’s.
If you hit a hotdog stand/sandwich shop Portillos is good but $$$. I recommend Mr Submarine on Ogden ave in Berwyn on the famous Rte 66.
They Always have 2 Italian subs for $5.99 and my lunch go to the pizza puff combo. Pizza puff , fries and a RC. $5 The pizza puff is deep fried golden brown.

Always good food and beer options it just depends on what neighborhood you’re staying in.

Yeah it is what it is...Most hot dog stands you won’t go wrong with......get a Chicago style hot dog with everything and make sure it’s a vienna beef hot dog. Portillos is a little more than most places but you get what you pay for in terms of how good it is.

I Agree. I like them also. If you are on a budget and In the Nw burbs I always hit Johnnies beef. (About 20 mins from O’hare - 40 mins from midway depending on day and time. They also have Italian ice and it’s a reasonable price

I see you are flying into midway, Google Donald's hot dogs central Avenue. Its right by the airport and it's good. When I worked at MDW we always went there for dogs and beef. It's in a shitty area and mostly truckers but that's how you know the foods good.

    Awesome thanks for the replies!

If anyone is near Midway I'd gladly donate a case of beer for a chauffeur. Otherwise I'll probably just uber around. I'm thinking this Thursday probably.

Recommend just walking around downtown and along the river and people watch and stare at buildings. There are bars everywhere to stop and get some food and a drink as well. I miss working down there for nice the summer days.

If you can't find a TW chauffeur, I'd definitly uber out of the Midway area. I'm a country boy so I'm squirrelier than most, but my two trips to Midway to do airport chauffeuring both involved watching (possible) drug deals go down super close to me while waiting at the Popeyes up the road. It's not the nicest neighborhood. Chicago is better than it used to be, but still not what I'd call safe in the classical sense. Proper natives feel free to rebuff this, I'm from the edges of Chicagoland at best and don't know most of the good/bad places to be other than avoiding neighborhoods like Chicago Heights.

More on topic, walk the Magnificent Mile (Michigan Avenue) if you get the chance, and the river too. The whole area is gorgeous.

I need to go back into Chicago at some point and just walk around. Last time I was there it was for Pride, which was cool despite being rained out hard.

Hey guys, I got some stuff I’m gonna be selling soon and am putting these out to you guys first. I’m in Plainfield and can meet up somewhere if need be.

    - chrome bumper of my 14. Nothing wrong with it, just upgraded.

    - after my supercharger install, I’m ended up with a box of stuff.
Fuel injectors (only 12k miles on them)
    Stock air box
    Engine cover.
Other odds and ends from the install, so if you need a certain bolt or something I can provide from the install. I should have it.
4 Tacoma wheels off an off-road, good tires.
Brand new rotors and pads. These are wrapped and packaged. I never used them. I had them for my next brake job but I upgraded to a Wilwood BBK kit.

Let me know if you need any of this stuff. Shoot me a PM and we’ll talk price. I’m very fair and reasonable in terms of prices. I’m not looking to make a lot of money.....just a little.

Edit.......I also have a set of stock u-bolts, stock fuel pump, stock fog lights.

Edit again .......I also have a stock 60mm throttle body. I upgraded to another one so this is available.

The west side of midway fine over off central, mostly just warehouses and that hot dog joint I posted about, a shit load less traffic to get to 55 as well. Cicero side is a little hood. What's wrong with a little drug deal going down right around you to spice up your trip LOL.
