Good luck getting Toyota to put that good a suspension on a mass produced truck. Nope, 3rd gen OR Bilsteins are the same as 2nd gen. Bilstein 4600's.

 

I'm still debating on what I want for suspension. I guess anything is better than what I have now.

 

Welp, one way is to identify what you want to do with your truck.

Comfy daily ride, trail/wheeling, towing a lot, etc.

 

It’s not a daily driver. I bought it mostly for recreational use and a backup Uber vehicle also.

 

I had 5100s on my old ‘05. I wasn’t delighted with them but they did the job for basic off road and winter driving as well as on road.

 

Okay, so what is your budget? Your "Off-road brands" atl what most people run around here, are Kings, Icons, or Toytec

 

Thinking around $1000 this time. So maybe 6112/5160 at the most. I understand that the labor will take those over that number.

 

Why not install yourself?

 

I’m in an apartment and I don’t have the tools and equipment. Do people get together on these kinds of projects? I’m open to that.

My question for you is, have you run the math? My napkin math tells me that you'll be PAYING people to drive them around with the gas mileage of the Tacoma.

Yes. I normally drive the Prius for Uber. Get hit though, I can still use the Tacoma instead of having to get a very expensive rideshare rental.
