When it does come time, i recommend a mild All-terrain in 255/85r16. If it's in a lower load range, not E, it'll rude softer, be lighter and raise your truck a little more.

So my patrol truck is a 2wd Ford reg cab with a 5.0 and it rains a lot on the coast where the plant is situated. Some of the perimeter roads are dirt and they have heavy machinery move down them from time to time. So I have a lot of fun trying to pick my lines, avoiding giant ruts and mud holes lol. Sometimes the road are so bad I can't even take em. I kept pushing for a 4x4 and we got a reg cab diesel kabota 4x4 now. But its too fucking cramped for my big ass. And I need a radio for music and Coast to Coast AM between midnight and 0400. Plus with the diesel it's hard to hear my security/safety radio.

Go price a 2n'd gen PreTaco, you will find them solid around $10K. Price your RAISED version up high, see what kind of feed back you get. If not good, then you set it back to stock as you can, and sell those add ons. But in the words of the "car dealer", you are upside down. Takes work to fix that.

He's trying to do hard rock crawling with his 2wd. He needs a capable base 4x4 for what he keeps doing.

Speaking of which, it may not be what you want, @05prerun82 , but you can also look at other brands, not just Toyota.

 

I know what he does. He talks like he wants a flying desert runner with those fenders and tons of clearance, but drives like he has a crawler for mud and rocks. And those are not the same anyway, and certainly not PreRunner. (Which is why I draw my lines!)

@05prerun82 , here is an example of what a 2n'd gen PreRunner might fetch at a dealer. If you stripped yours, and professionally detailed it, you could probably collect well over "upside down" value. You can't do that on trade in.
