That’s looks awesome. I’m looking at mine right now but the washers don’t fit inside the grooves of the grill. Did you not use the supplied washers when tightening it down?

I don't, but I'd love to draw one up. If you want to be the first with the prototype, I'll cut you a heck of a deal on one. Shoot me a PM if interested!

    Looking good!

I'll be writing up a set of instructions by tomorrow morning. But the fender washers don't go in between the metal insert and the plastic grille shell; the washers will be on the back of the plastic, right before the lock nut. The fender washer just gives the lock nut a solid base for tightening.

haha definitely not trying to add a washer between the grill and plastic. I am placing them like you stated but only 3 fit flush. They were too large to sit between the grooves on the grill. I’m not sure if a 2019 has anything different with the tss added but I got it on without the washer and it’s a solid fit

Interesting, it shouldn't be anything different. Wondering if I accidentally had packed that grille with the incorrect size

I like your work. Any chance you can do a black background with red, white, and blue TOYOTA lettering? How much would that be?

I also had the same issue with the washers.
In this image, the washer didn't fit any of these three screws to varying degrees. (The bottom screw looks OK in this picture, but it was still a tight fit, similar to the top screw). I couldn't even fit the washer onto the middle screw due to the angle that it was coming into the frame. This was the same for both the right and left side of the grille.

And this is an image of the very top screw. The washer didn't completely fit here either.

All of the bottom three washers fit just fine. I also had an issue, where the acrylic cover for the TSS sensor had holes for the screws, but they were just a tad bit too close, resulting in the screws to come in at an angle which I was then unable to get the TSS bracket to sit flush. Luckily I was able to drill one of the holes out a bit to fix this. (Unfortunately forgot to take a picture of this).

All in all, I think it turned out looking great! Very pleased with my purchase. Thank you!

Good to know. Looks like I'm going to make some cuts to the washers with a dremel during install... It looks awesome on MGM

I'll have to change out the washers from here on out then. I knew the middle-top right/left ones weren't completely flush, but I don't remember having issues with the other screw locations. This is the first anyone has said anything and I've sold countless of these

The feedback is much appreciated everyone.

I figure that in the future I'll go back and swap them out for some washers that fit, but right now it wasn't a priority as I was able to snug everything up pretty good and there was nothing that seemed loose. And the fact that I didn't have any extra washers laying around. haha.

Installed mine last night (will post pics soon once I get a chance) but had the same issue with washers not sitting flush. I just used the drill to snug them up as tight as I could and everything seems to be ok. I'll prob take the grinder to them and buzz off the ends to make em square or find some smaller diameter ones.

Overall I am pleased as well grill is made very well thanks again @Cutting_Edge

Yeah even if they're not completely flush, it shouldn't be an issue as long as everything is a tight fit.

If anyone wants me to send them a set of new washers feel free to shoot me a PM and I'll be happy to do so via 2-3 day Priority Mail.

If not, then a simple pack of #8 washers for ~$1 at Home Depot, etc. should do the trick.

My biggest concern is mounting the TSS. The screws seemed way too short unless I just flat out did it wrong. I had to put the washer between the sensor and the plastic panel otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to get the nut on at all. Anyone else have this issue? Did I do something wrong? I fiddled with that longer than anything else

As you can see there isn’t much of the thread inside the nut. It seems secure now but I’m worried what will happen after a drive down the construction ridden interstate

Don't worry I haven't forgotten, just extremely busy this week. Should get some time Saturday to draw it up and send previews your way.

Do you have any 2016 Tacoma painted bezels?
