TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

I've bought both. I feel the roush is a better product.

Not a mandatory item. I'd say do it when you have time.

 

I would do the Roush out of all of them, cheap(er) more effective, and more worth the modding to make it work if you want to use the double bearing roller.

I can mod it later.

Is the 255 lpm upgraded pump enough to handle the 2.7 pulley or do I need to jump to the 320 or 340? Currently hitting high 9s and low 10s AFR at WOT with the 2.8 pulley and no FPR mod so I am definitely running rich. Doesnt seem to have any issues with fuel supply but I don't know how big of a difference the 2.7 is going to make.

Just the TRD tune right now. I may get the HPtuners but from what I have read there are a few people running the 2.7 on the TRD tune with the FPR mod and 320 pump.

 

To be honest I don't really need the 2.7 pulley, the 2.8 is working fine, but the finish on it is terrible. It has slowly flaked to where it is stating to rust and looks like garbage. Every time I open the hood I see it and it pisses me off, not to mention the rust corrosion will probably start rubbing off on the belt too. So I am going to replace it and figured If I am going to swap it out, might as well get the quick change setup and try the 2.7.

Hmmmm.... which to get first. HPT or smaller pulley and 320 pump. One will have to be purchased next month when funds recover.

 

Hpt first and start messing with it. Pulley and pump wont make a huge difference

 

Yeah but then I have to look at that garbage for another month.

Did a thorough cleaning of the engine bay yesterday and it made it worse. Everything clean and that pulley looking like it came from a 40 year old junk yard vehicle.

 

You can run 2.7 with the fpr but I wouldn't recommended now that we have proper fuel control tuning available to run at the PCM. I would do HPT first then get your go fast stuff.

 

what is the secret of these clips? How did yall get them off?

 

Mishimoto makes the bolt in 160° with included housing.

 

Yank up. Flat head underneath them to pry.
