just clamped off and did the mod. May have dropped 4 or 5 drops so didn't even loose much fluid. Connected everything and then went for a drive. The clutch pedal has a long throw it seems. It sits high and then I have to push a way before it engages and I can shift but the shifts feel like they are supposed to when I am letting out the clutch into the next gear. No wondering when it would engage or that awkward bump like usual. Pedal returns quickly back to the top and I didnt notice the annoying clutch squeak anymore- but that will likely return as always :)

it didnt seem to miss going into gear easily and even downshifted to first like never before when slowing to make a turn

Am I okay or should I bleed the system for safety sake?

I'd bleed it, but I'm picky about things like that. Given how simple the process is, why not just do it?

Yeah there’s air in the line. It’ll still work but the air compresses unlike the fluid. It’ll be noticeably different after bleeding.

What tricks for bleeding then? Simply open bleed valve and let it drip a bit? That simple—-

That's pretty much what I did. Top off the reservoir under the hood and put a hose on the bleeder. Crack it wide open and let it drip for 5-10 min. Make sure to keep the reservoir topped off. When you're satisfied, close the bleeder and make sure the reservoir has the appropriate level in it.

you don't turn it off. you step on the brakes, then speed up with the gas pedal or pull back on the stalk and the truck accelerates. i
I don't use the adaptive because it tends to give false alarms too often for my taste.
Another down side is that it promotes complacency for me. I let it adjust the speed so either I tend to not pay attention to my surroundings as well as I should and/or I spend 20 miles traveling 5-10 mph below where I want to be traveling. I know it's a first world problem. But that's why it's available to turn on and off. each driver can choose their own comfort level in their own vehicles.

Then why use cruise control at all if that's your logic?

Not sure what you mean? If I’m on the highway I use cruise control all the time......I like the regular version because it’s not finnicky and I can set it and turn it off as I like.

I have the URD STS too, and you want the ADM that *DELETES* the accumulator.

OT BS is always welcome, IMO.

    Enjoy the shifter.

Some folks are big fans of the Dremel mod. I'd say to skip the brake line elbow one if you can. Too much bending on the existing lines, but it is there as a backup.

Yup. Less than $10 of parts sourced locally.

Is the Dremel mod just as effective? I'd rather the accumulator be there for "warranty purpose" even if it doesn't actually do anything

Regarding warranty, if you have any kind of miles on your Taco, there will be no warranty on the clutch. They classify it as a wear item. There have been a couple extremely bad material problems with the friction plate on very low mileage Tacos. They owners struggled to get any warranty support. This was before the ADM got traction here.

Love my URD STS. I had one on my 2nd gen and got one for my 2017 before I even picked it up from the dealer. It's not quite as big of a difference as it was on the 2nd gen, but we started out a bit shorter on the 3rd gen anyway. I don't have any issues with reverse, and shifts are nice and smooth. I was able to install without any cutting of the transmission tunnel with a lot of patience and some swearing. Some have better luck than others, but if I had to cut up my truck the STS would have been shipped back to URD.

I guess CORE makes one for both the 4 banger and 6cyl. I know nothing about it though. It is also $300.

I had it on my 2nd gen 4cyl and it was awesome, only had two drives on the new one on the 3.5 but it seems to be just as good. The instructions in the box were for a 2nd gen and they didn't give me the same screws for the whole thing. Lucky for me I knew how to install it. @Gadget makes good stuff, just wish the little things like different bolts and no instructions could be better. Or, having instructions on the website would be rad. Performance in there though.

i have the URD also. it's good. i'm about 2 years into it and it has loosened up only about 25% or so.

i ordered a Core, it's in production. shipping to me end of this week, install in two more. all the reviews say it's the one.

It was a bit of a PITA to install, but afterward with the heavier shift knob from @7r41lbr34k3r it is well worth the effort.
Don't know of any other options out there. there may be some now, at the time URD was my only choice.
