I'm torn about the B-pillar vinyl. Quite frankly, I didn't even realize it was there until people started talking about it. I think the chances are I'll likely end up keeping it. More so because if it's faded I don't want to deal with it. If my Tacoma emblems are faded it *might* not be too noticeable but I feel like with the b-pillar they may not be a way around that.

Would you foresee any problems with not waxing after? I don't have anything to really fully detail the exterior of my vehicle other than just simply going to wash it.

I painted my emblems black. My truck didn't have any TRD decals cuz its an SR5 but if i did, i would have removed them.

Gotta add, removing the emblems made washing/waxing/detailing so much easier. Don't get rags/mitts snagged on those damn things anymore, and without them you don't have giant dirt catchers that are a pain to clean around.

The PRO badges wouldn't be so bad to clean around as they're mostly straight lines, it's just the text, ugh...

I was told that using scratch-x or any other compound works as a very mild abrasive. That’s how you are able to get the ghosting removed. The main reason I waxed over it was to get the protection back on the paint. I’m not sure there would be any problems, but who knows. When I used scratch x to remove the ghosting the paint didn’t look different. I just wanted the protection of wax since scratch-x removes whatever wax is on there.

I am a newbie here and maybe this is the wrong thread (probably is) but where can I learn how to remove badges as well as TRD off road decal on back? On black truck its an eye sore... I want everything black...

    Some
    Badges.
Let truck sit in direct sunlight or, heat badges with hairdryer. Run fishing line in a sawing motion (up and down) between badges and truck. This will cut through the adhesive. Once badge is off, clean residual with Goo Gone. I used a micro fiber towel to do this. Wash truck to remove Goo Gone. You should probably wax as well, I didn't and had no problems.
    Decals.
I have no clue. Mine are still on my truck.
    Hope this helps.

Badges: Little bit of heat, fishing line, a soft tug, goo-gone for the glue residue and a good wax/wash. Might need to use rubbing compound after removing residue to get rid of any ghosting if present.

Stickers: Little bit of heat and SLOWLY peel. Goo-gone for residue and a good wax/wash. Some people have used rubber wheels made for sticker removal on thier drills with success, can't vouch for that.

I used Maguire’s scratch x to remove the ghosting. It worked really well.

So today I decided to go badge less but while in the process my military minded part took over and I had this great epiphany while I was half way through.

That’s just being held on there to see how it would look. It’s not ready yet. I kinda like it?

If anyone has the V6 badge from the tailgate that they don’t want, I’ll be happy to take it off your hands. I need another V. I made one out of an M with my Dremmell but it doesn’t look very good. Chrome is ok. I’ll paint it.

If I end up debadging, which I'll likely at least do my V6 I can help you out. I probably won't have time to get to it until next weekend or the weekend after though because I'll be out of town.

Thanks, buddy. I’m in no rush. As St. Germaine said, are just things I do to amuse myself. . .

BTW, where in Maine? Former Jackman resident here. :)

Yep, would’ve never left if it wasn't for my wife and daughter. Apparently women have this thing for ready access to daily necessities and convenience, shopping, etc...

Psshhh, Who woulda thunk it eh?

    Thanks Jeremy. :fistbump:
